Publisher's Summary

Oboist Sara Baron agrees to cat-sit for a childhood friend, but instead of being greeted by a meowing fluff ball, she walks into a ransacked house and stumbles over her friend’s dead body.

Frantic, she runs next door and enlists the help of a mysterious stranger who knows more than he admits. His charm, not to mention his deep chestnut eyes, is balanced by his guardedness, unexplained absences, and seemingly nonexistent past. Is he helping her expose the murderer or covering his tracks?

Meanwhile, Sara battles a career-threatening affliction and helps keep the family music business afloat, all while looking for instrumental evidence to put the murderer behind bars.

Good start to a new mystery series

This is the first in a promising new series. I listened to this book. I found it layered with interesting characters. Even though I felt the author was directing me towards one suspect, I did not bite. I also figured out the neighbor’s secret long before it was revealed.

I also, noticed that the author points out what I have learned through time that as some individual ages, their filter disappears on their comments.

I found dystonia an unusual disease and did further research which was not necessary for enjoying this book.

Her trip and isn’t going well though she first gets into a fender bender with an obnoxious good looking man, then she goes to visit her parents because she missed them and feels guilty after having to tell them she staying by Allison not at their home and then she goes to Alyssa’s ready to fall in bed and go to sleep, but unfortunately this is when she finds her friend dead on her bedroom floor. Her cell phone is dead, Eli‘s house phone doesn’t work so she’s forced to go next-door and get help and assistance from the neighbor. To her surprise and chagrin it’s the handsome obnoxious guy from the fender bender. After the cops leave and all of a sudden done she takes him up on his offer to stay at his home not only because she is very tired but because our phones are low. This is when the adventure begins. There is so much more to death but then with the help of her mom who works at the police department as a dispatcher and her new frenemy Travis she sets out to solve this crime. Unfortunately her new frenemy Travis sometimes looks more like a suspect then he does someone helping to solve this crime. Did Travis kill Eli or was it someone that no one saw coming. Oh I absolutely loved this book I love the authors wit this book at me laughing out loud and I loved it and highly recommend it if you love a good mystery then you’ll love this book. This is the first book in the new Siri‘s and I cannot wait for the second. Not to mention the narrator of this book is really freaking awesome I mean I love her so much! She did such a great job she gave no one a strange voice she read the book and a comfortable tone that set the case for the mystery I just thought she was awesome I wish I could remember her name but it’s the narrator you can look and see. Highly recommend this book so much!

Fun and not too crazy!

I thought this was a fun chill book to listen to! I listened to the whole of this on a trip I took across the weekend. It made the road trip soo much more bearable! The story has an interesting bunch of characters who all had their own unique personalities which I always enjoy! This story caught my EYE with its title. XD Naomi Rose-Mock did a wonderful job and will make sure to have a FULL listen-through a second time!

MS Seiner has a winner with this one!

Absolutely loved this audible book! The plot is well developed as are the characters. I am still a new Audible book "reader" and enjoyed listening over several days while doing chores. it helped make the time fly in a most entertaining way.

Tune in for a good book

I really enjoyed this book, it kept me hooked and guessing all the way through until the last page. I liked the characters from the grump old granddad who says what he wants, to the mother desperate to see her daughter happy, all were written so well I am pretty sure everybody knows at least one of these characters in life. The unusual career for the main character Sara was interesting and the author obviously put a lot of thought into her characters and how she could spend so much time investigating the murder. I had never heard of dystonia (and in fact looked it up) but the fact that Sara is still a strong and capable woman despite having it made her very real. The mystery was good and took you off in lots of different directions, I spent most of the book wondering who she should be trusting and which man she would end up with. An all round good book and I hope there is another book in the series to come because I would like to spend more time with this characters as they investigate.
Sara is home to help plan her grandfather surprise birthday party, look after a friends house and cat sit but more importantly rest up her hand because if she doesn't she might lose the job she loves. Plagued with mussel cramps in her hand might stop her playing the oboe but it won't stop her finding a killer. After nearly getting killed in a car accident on the way back to her home town Sara is surprised to find her friends house unlocked and trashed. The bigger surprise is when she finds her friend dead in her bedroom. Did somebody knowing the house was empty come to rob it? With her mobile also dead after the long drive she rushes next door for help but instead finds more questions in the form of the mysterious neighbour, can she trust him after the way he acted when they nearly crashed? When her phone recharges she gets a message from the dead. Her friend warns her not to come and not let them get, what? If seems the neighbour wasn't the only one to be keeping secrets but was her friends secret what got her killed? The police can't find her ex fiancee does Sara really expect them to find a killer? And what were they looking for in the house? Sara might just have to find the killer herself before they find her.
I liked the narrator and sticking with the theme of music she was a melody for the ears.
