Review for Deadly Harvest:Georgia Rae Winston series

Excellent well written murder mystery novel that will keep you listening to solve the surprise ending. Narrator interpretation is excellent reading with passion and expression that makes listening a pleasurable experience. The descriptive but not graphic text makes this book suitable for anyone interested is an excellent mystery series.

LOVED IT

This was the first book i have read by this author. Found the book very entertaining and well written. The characters were well developed and lovable. I definitely would do more in this series. The narrator did a great job. I was gifted this book at my request and left a voluntary review.

Deadly Harvest

I great mystery with just enough suspects to keep you guessing. Georgia Rae is not your typical sleuth, she’s a farmer... but when she discovers a former students body on her property, she’s drawn right in.

Marissa Shrock has developed some interesting characters and a unique storyline. I’m looking forward to checking out more of her stories.

The narration by Jennifer Jill Araya was well done. I had no trouble keeping the different characters straight, and I was drawn into the story from the very beginning.

Very heavily Christian

If, going in, there had been some mention in the description that this was a Christian-based mystery series I think my impression would have been better. I received this free for review but it’s category was simply mystery/murder mystery. No where is there mention of a Christian overtone (which is putting things lightly).

Don’t get me wrong, the book is entertaining and probably more so if you know to expect near constant mention of bible study group, going to church, prayer group, “let’s pray aloud together,” “trust God and his will,” etc.

I have nothing against Christian-centric novels, but there should be just as blatant a a confession as the content within.

All that aside, the mystery itself was well executed and entertaining. The main character is a bit annoying as she’s supposedly 30 but behaves similar to a lovesick 14 year old. The narrator is OK, differentiations between characters could be better but she was pleasant to listen to.

This is a very clean Christian book and is appropriate for almost any reader as long as you’re prepared for murder and complications of dating/relationships.

Now that I know what to expect I have better adjusted expectations for future installments.

Great Christian Cozy Mystery

This is a great Christian cozy mystery. There is quite of bit of suspense and several well-placed red herrings. The characters are realistic although at first, I found a few of the characters a little immature for their ages. As the story progressed the characters seemed to mature and work out their differences. The storyline was entertaining and well developed.

I listened to the audio version of this book. Narrator Jennifer Jill Araya does a wonderful job of giving each character a voice and bring the story to life. I had no problem knowing which character was which. Her voice acting draws the listener in and is an asset to this book.
