It's the Christmas season and veterinarian Kate Turner is not feeling very jolly. She's overworked, unappreciated, and dealing with two dissatisfied clients. Throw in a very complicated personal life and Kate's definitely got a case of the holiday blues.

To make matters worse, Kate's ex-boyfriend, Jeremy, is mugged and robbed after they have a heated argument in the hospital parking lot. A fun mystery with some helpful moments of veterinary knowledge. I work in a vet office, so the moments of education peppered throughout the story was the best part for me.

I DO LOVE THESE CHARACTERS. KATE IS A STRONG INTELLIGENT WOMAN WITHOUT GIVING UP HER FEMININITY. THE ANIMALS AND THEIR OFTEN QUIRKY HUMANS ADD A WHOLE LEVEL TO THESE BOOKS. THIS BOOK HAD A NUMBER OF RED HERRINGS TO KEEP THE INVESTIGATION INTERESTING, AND KATE'S PERSONAL LIFE IS DEVELOPING IN SEVERAL WAYS. I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK.
