It's the Christmas season and veterinarian Kate Turner is not feeling very jolly. She's overworked, unappreciated, and dealing with two dissatisfied clients. Throw in a very complicated personal life and Kate's definitely got a case of the holiday blues.

To make matters worse, Kate's ex-boyfriend, Jeremy, is mugged and robbed after they have a heated argument in the hospital parking lot. Relaxing Little book

This was a relaxing book to listen to. The narrator Was very good.. I did not know who the culprit was Until the very end. I like that

Vet dr wins again

This series has very engaging characters, including our heroine. The stories are good with lots of clues. I very much enjoyed these.

Fun, & not scary

A fun mystery with some helpful moments of veterinary knowledge. I work in a vet office, so the moments of education peppered throughout the story was the best part for me.

A little longer than it needed to be, but a good whodunit nonetheless. This appears to be the first in a spin-off series and after reading the next one courtesy of NetGalley, I went and bought this one in audio.
Fun at a work Christmas party became embarrassing when it went viral on social media. Dr. Kate made reference to certain irascible clients who she wished would just disappear. But then they did. Permanently. No longer funny, and of questionable cause, it was time to do some amateur sleuthing. The storyline was solid, the characters memorable, and the info about various breeds and domestic animals was great. Really worth the credit.
Voice actor Caroline Shaffer has a pleasant voice and nice delivery.

Fun Story with Animals and a Vet

As others have mentioned this series has other books under The Kate Turner DMV Mysteries, which is a little confusing. But it takes nothing away from this tale who finds Kate covering for a vet who is on vacation. The team is having the annual Christmas party, complete with a litter box cake, when one of the employees videos the frivolities, which just happens to catch some off the cuff remarks that comes back to bite them later when two of the clinic customers turn up dead. Forced to look into the murders in order to clear her name, Kate begins to investigate. A fun and quirky cozy mystery.

Enjoyable Read for the animal lover in you

I have read the 3 books in this series. The narrator has perfect intonation & has "become" the voice of Dr. Kate Turner. I enjoy the side stories which bring other animals, such as horses, into the story line. Good character development. No bad language or gratuitous sex. I enjoy her relationship with her "Gramps." All in all I recommend as a good retreat from summer heat.

EXCELLENT

I DO LOVE THESE CHARACTERS. KATE IS A STRONG INTELLIGENT WOMAN WITHOUT GIVING UP HER FEMININITY. THE ANIMALS AND THEIR OFTEN QUIRKY HUMANS ADD A WHOLE LEVEL TO THESE BOOKS. THIS BOOK HAD A NUMBER OF RED HERRINGS TO KEEP THE INVESTIGATION INTERESTING, AND KATE'S PERSONAL LIFE IS DEVELOPING IN SEVERAL WAYS. I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK.

Loved it! Great suspense and made me feel like I was in the story. Looking forward to the next story.

Great Story

I really enjoyed this book and the ending. This book continues on from the third book. I hope there will be more books in this series to come. I was a little concerned as to the story being 10 hours long but it did not seem so long at all. I enjoyed listening to Caroline Shaffer. She is easy to listen to and made the story real. I like the animal cases and the main storyline with all the characters involved. I hope there will be more books in this series to come. I am looking forward to the next book.
