Publisher's Summary

Welcome to Amazon! Several years ago, Amazon made a conscious choice to invest in downtown Seattle, even though it would've been cheaper to move to the suburbs. Amazon chose to commit to Seattle because they believed it was the right choice for Amazon employees and for the city. Now, Amazon's Headquarters is made up of over 30 office buildings. On this Amazon Headquarters Tour, you will learn how Amazon's unique urban campus is deeply connected to the surrounding community. In addition, you will explore Amazon's history, learn about Amazon's customer obsession, and find out why at Amazon, every day truly is Day 1. In fact, the tour starts at our office building called Day 1 at 2121 7th Ave. Seattle, WA 98121. It ends in South Lake Union at 399 Fairview Ave. N. Seattle, WA 98109.

Fun

A good way to walk around Seattle and learn about Amazon. The timing was good. I was ready for it to end right when it ended.

More like an ad or employee training presentation

This gives tons of info on what it is like to be an Amazon employee (which seems pretty cool). Not much on what the company does and what goes on in each building. I thought it was very self serving. Also, the amazon campus could benefit from a souvenir shop since it is now a destination for tourists to Seattle. Overall very disappointing.

Absorbed thousands of miles from Seattle

I listened to this in New Jersey and hence did not walk the campus. There were interesting facts and naturally my mind built a creative vision of the campus. The introduction of “code names” and the use in the company after programs launched shows an innovative way to benchmark progress...Bear skeleton lessons included

Great Amazon audible tour

Loved it! I was doing the tour via google maps, but it was still wonderful. I loved the information about the building names and the preserved history that Amazon performed.

Thank you.

Buildings and Stories

Caveat: We toured on a weekend so we couldn’t get into the lobbies.

You get a sense of how Amazon’s offices are spread around the city and the efforts Amazon makes to be a good citizen. It is heavy on Pro-Amazon propaganda though, everything they do is great and all their employees are both smart and happy.

Worth taking the tour only if you have the time, not a must.

Great Virtual Tour

I listened to the guided tour to help familiarize myself with Amazon and it's culture. It's a great way to learn more about the company and made me very excited for my visit to their campus. Amazon has done a great job telling their story through their employees and campus in this guided tour.

A Wow!

Thank you for the ingenuity and innovation of this amazing audible tour. While I was unable to walk to all parts of the campus, I sat in a hotel lobby listening and smiling in amazement. All the way along I thought, what a Fabulous place to work. Jeff B has created the perfect all encompassing US Company. Thank you and I am hooked on Amazon for life!!

Free tour of Amazon world

Overall good tour although if your only here for the weekend you cannot go into the buildings where access is allowed. It’s also a self promotion tour of how great Amazon is & that’s to be expected. Get your walking shoes on as you will be traveling up & down the streets of Seattle. I plugged in address because the guide downplays some of the distances between stops. Could be a shorter tour than the allotted but w/all the stories of self promotion it’s over 1 hour w/walking involved.

Quite dissapointing...

Unfortunately this tour wasn't what we were expecting at all. Rather than a tour of the campus and explaining where innovations have been dreamt up and how, the tour is extremely self-serving and self-promotional. It primarily boasts Amazon as Seattle's best new company, and the things they're doing around renewability etc... I'd rather hear where Amazon Web Services was born, or the history of the buildings and why their sprawling campus is laid out how it is - not about the free banana stand. The idea of this ebook is great but it definitely needs changing.
