Great book for aspiring entrepreneurs
I loved every minute of this. I’ve heard some of these business’s stories before, but Guy Raz managed to uncover aspects that feel more real and put their founding into a much more relatable perspective. He seems to ask the right questions and really gain the trust of the founders he interviews. I’m left feeling like a really can start the business I want to start!

Loved the story
Guy Raz did a fantastic job writing these stories and an even better job narrating them with the emotion and inflection indicative of his iconic voice. I recommend this book for all entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs.

Incredible Origin Stories and Storytelling
If you enjoy the HIBT podcast you will love this book! Guy does and amazing job of weaving the stories of many of the entrepreneurs he’s interviewed into a guide map for starting or growing your own business in the best way. As a small business owner myself, I found it so interesting and inspiring to hear how things played out over many years, sometimes in spite of all odds, for these business owners to end up where they are today. For me it was a testament that God is I think he details of all our lives, Its hard to overlook the divine intervention that seems to take place in some of these stories. My husband doesn’t usually like business/personal development books like I do, but we listened to this while we hiked and he really enjoyed it and got some ideas for changes they could make in the company where he is an executive. Well done, Guy! Can’t wait for Vol 2!

Excellent real-world podcast
Despite occasionally being a bit Pollyanna, this podcast series masquerading as an audiobook provides an excellent deconstruction of starting a business. How I Built This is full of real-world lessons and examples of what to and what not to do. It's also highly engaging and entertaining.
