I never wanted it to end.

Nooooooooooooo! <------- My exact reaction when the audiobook ended, although I think I need a few more ooooos. Add in the fact that I was throwing my head back against the headrest like a toddler having a tantrum and I'm sure I was getting more than a few looks from my fellow commuters last night. I know this series isn't ending, but with the focus moving off of Maximoff and Farrow, at least temporarily, I'm now in a period of mourning.

I love #Marrow so much! I had no idea when I started this series how deeply and completely I would fall. But man did I ever! Fall that is. I am head over heels for these 2. I don't want to ever say good-bye to them! (Whiney toddler tantrum mode in effect.)

Alphas Like Us is more emotional than the previous 2 books. So many tears at different points! Mostly happy tears, but some *hit you right in the feels* tears, too.
Moffy and Farrow love each other sooo much and you could just *feel* it. Ugh, is it wrong how much love *I'm* feeling for fictional characters??? But I can't help it! Seeing how much they cared for each other, how they weren't afraid to show it once they were finally able to be a "regular" couple, they are just so sweet and funny and freaking adorable. How can you not love them!

I could go on and on and on about my love for this book, about my love for this series, about my love for Maximoff and Farrow, but I'm guessing you'd get a little sick of it. So I'll just say that these 3 books have cemented a place in my all-time favorites. #MarrowForever

J.F. Harding and Alexander Cendese are Maximoff Hale and Farrow Redford Keene. They are so perfect as their respective characters! Every time there was a chapter change and Alexander would say "Farrow Keene" I was saying it right along with him- I don't know why, but it just felt right. I want to go back and listen to these books all over again. I foresee them being in heavy rotation in my car.

Still in love

I am still in love with this series and the narrators! I totally get sucked in to the story partly because of the fantastic writing but also because each narrator makes the characters come alive in ways that me reading text on a page just can’t.

I tried so hard

First, the good news - Audible refunded me for the Fourth installment of this duo so I will not feel obligated to listen to it. The bad news is that I spent all that time on the first three. I went back and re-read reviews and was left wondering who are these people who call this the best series they've ever read, dropping 5 star ratings like manna from heaven. If what you want is a clown car of characters who do things that are so removed from any hint of reality while treating quotes from comic books and Harry Potter as legitimate filler then by all means dig in. Want a smarter series that deals with body guards, physical threats and rich people? Then go with April Wilson's series starting with Somebody to love. There is a smartly written series where the main characters are allowed to be the main characters with believable situations.

Let us talk about the technical issues with the narrators. There are lines that were clearly added after the fact and it is 100% jarring when it happens. There is no excuse for this when there are credited producers. As the third book starts, the choices made for Farrow's vocalization by both narrators is tiresome. I am a huge JF Harding fan, but I was not happy with approach taken here.

Then there is the story. What irritated me the most was that some really smart choices were made initially that went nowhere. The car accident set up a great opportunity with Maximoff and Farrow realizing what is important. I was hopeful that the embarrassing non story of the first two titles would be swept away for a story of substance. Well, that turned out to be a fools wish and it was all squandered. There is a sub plot surrounding the charitable foundation, the only way Maximoff can return to his leadership position is to agree to participate in an auction where the "of age" kids are sold for a date. Somehow, Maximoff is sold to a porn performer for over $2million. So, lets talk about that. Is there a porn presence in Philly? Wait, that doesn't matter. Instead let's focus on the reality of that industry. Like many industries - in reality porn has been squeezed by the internet and is actually a very streamlined business. Headlines going back nearly 20 years proclaim that companies are struggling. Yet we are supposed to believe that a performer would have over two million dollars to bid on this "celebrity". This sub plot rears its head again later in the book, and its just as dumb then.

Another plot has Farrow creating all kinds of drama by leaving the security detail to return to medicine, but that becomes its own struggle. Oh, what, being a resident is hard!! Gosh, I don't get to see my boyfriend enough when committing to my three years of residency. Please hold on while I yawn. Any hope I had early in the book was squashed along the way, the actual resolution was so preposterous that I hit pause to laugh out loud - it is that stupid. And stupid is a word I try to avoid using when speaking of plots. I know when I love a book as I go back and listen to some or all of it again. There are books that are nice, but am unlikely to listen again, but am ok with that. Then there are books like that where I say - it is so bad that I am mad at myself for actually finishing. When I got to the end, I wanted a refund from the co-authors, as well as an explanation as to why they thought any of their choices were good. Absolutely do not recommend any of the books in the series.

Not my favorite of the series

while this book wasnt bad, if you werent as invested with the characters I could easily see how this book would be a boring let down. while I knew these books wouldn't be the addicted series at least the first 2 books had more excitement and turmoil in them. This book was just kind of a let down. I mean the summary for the book literally only touches the first couple hours of the book then that conflict is resolved. theres really no great conflict, I think they tried to make farrow switching jobs the problem but it was honestly just stupid, his whole character was kinda changed for me when he made that switch, and while I I dont agree with how Thatcher handled it, I was like seriously confused and irritated too. then they tried to create something with Farrows EX towards the end and with the porn star but all that too was stupid and kinda pointless. in all the other books the little things or big things all had a purpose, and I just dont see the purpose for alot of the stuff in this book. maybe it will be revealed in a a later book. I will still read this series, but this was a definite let down. at least in the other books when they were in the HEA phase, there was so much emotion behind every scene that the lack of angst wasn't boring! This book was missing a lot of that.

" Begin at the beginning, " The King said, very ..

gravely, " and go on till you come to the end: then stop ". Lewis Carroll, AIW

It sounds so simple and it even sounds as a jest; but I did what the King said, I kept going.

I am reading/listening to the Like Us Series till the end. To the last book of this on going series.

Why? Because at this point , I am invested. I care about all the characters in the series.

With that said, it took me a bit to get into Alpha Like Us. This series have so many MC's , main plots, subplots , under-cover-plots😏 über-plots , trivial -plots 😳 that at times it's exhausting . Few times many of those extra, extra plots are left open , unresolved or/and simply forgotten and that is annoying.

At this point of my review, I imagine explanations about who is who in Alpha Like Us is unnecessary as to get here , you had to read books 1 and 2 . These books aren't standalone.

What I liked: Farrow and Maximoff alone time to be a couple. The 5 days in Greece were great. Farrow letter to Beckett . #Marrow 😍 and Maximoff and Farrow's conversations.

What I didn't like: Xander subplot that went no where and didn't contribute anything to the main plot, the same goes to Beckett subplot.

I realize that the Charity auction was part of the plot to introduce a villain but the actual resolution
and consequences of why Maximoff and the others participated and then pull out wasn't really address .

Also , why Maximoff was fired as CEO , when he is the one who brings the money and he the main attraction, it doesn't make sense , at all. In book 2 , it was said because he wasn't in the office enough , but to get money for charity, organizations and individuals reach to the donors not the way around. Sitting in a office doing paper work and staff meetings won't get you donations.

In summary: Even if I wanted to stop with this book, I cannot.

Becca and Krista Ritchie writing style and likeable characters creates a spider web that frankly is impossible to get out.

Onwards towards Tangled Like Us , Thatcher and Jane's story.

As with the previous books the narration and Alexander Cendese and J.P. Harding , actors portraying Farrow and Maximoff did an splendid job bringing these two heroes to live.

Review for the Kindle and Audible versions.

I can’t get enough!

I just finished listening to this 3 book series again! That’s how much I love it! Cendese and Harding are excellent narrators who bring the The Ritchie’s characters, Maximoff and Farrow, to life. I can’t wait for their next book.

#Marrow Forever

This is the third in the series of Maximoff’s and Farrow’s stories and you must listen to them all to really appreciate the development of the relationship between Moffy (Maximoff) and Farrow.
The duel narrators are superb, allowing you to easily distinguish between each and every character, and believe me there are many supporting characters besides the MC. For me Alexander Cendese and J.F Harding are Moffy and Farrow.

Well, as usual, just exceptional!

I love this series, just wish that the audiobook formats were released at the same time as paperback format.

I know/appreciate that a lot of authors (self published/published), either share royalties with the narrator, the likes of Audible.com invest and produce the audiobooks, or in most cases, the author pays out their own pocket to release this format.
It’s just a shame because of the quality of this series, and many others, that the audio format always seems come last when it comes down to the release of the titles.
Considering the price that’s charged by Audible to purchase a title (on average £18), I’m surprised that when there’s a popular series released, that there isn’t some sort of deal to have them all released at the same time - but sadly not the case!

This is a great series whether read or listened to, and I highly recommend you listen from the beginning (book #1 - Damaged Like Us) to fully understand the concept and characters of the series (and there are some right characters - the ‘Oliveiro Brothers’ to name a couple)

A fantastic read/listen definitely 5 🌟 across the board!!

awesome narrators

I love the "Like US" series - they were fantastic to read as ebooks, but these 2 narrators just take the story to the next level. I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to all 3 books from them - cannot wait until the series gets to the next Moffy and Farrow release (from memory that was going to be book 6) so there is another from them both to listen to.
