Great Story

Love the author’s spin on the end of the world. It was so hard when I had to stop listening for annoying things like work. I mean how could I work when the world was ending? I love the characters and how Allison helped out her neighbors in need. Will and Riley cracked me up. I was completed captivated through the whole book and will definitely be looking for the next book. The narration was spot on perfect, he really did a great job bringing the book to life

Prepared, but not a prep-per...

Allison is such a quirky character, she cares about people deeply but prefers not to meet a lot of people, she's been stockpiling supplies for years 'just in case' but objects to being called a prep-per. Surrounding her are a bunch of people from all walks of life who all come together to create safety for themselves and each other.

This book is full of characters who show both the best and worst of people. The story is well written and I loved listening to it. The narration is well done, great character voices and the tone and pace of the delivery worked well for the different phases of the book.

There's some great information on survival wrapped up in this story, enough detail to make it feel real without overwhelming us with information not needed for the plot.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

End of the world

This is a great take on the end of the world. I really enjoyed hearing this book. It was very good and had great description. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters to life, wonderful voice. I look forward to hopefully there being more spin offs of the book.

I was given a code for an unbiased and honest review for this book.

I would most definitely recommend this book

not my usual kind of book

It was better than I thought it was going to be. the book was well written and as usual the voice acting was spot on. the only thing that kinda bothered me was the jabs toward Democrats, but the main character addresses it. I am like Alison, I vote for the person not the party.

I recieved this audio book free in exchange for an honest review.

Don’t call her a prepped

Great story! Unfortunately, it may serve as some level of foreshadowing for our own lives if society can’t get the focus off “me” and start worrying about “us.” Truly hope there is more to this story in the future. Narration was top notch as usual. Highly recommend this to all.

Excellent

I really enjoyed this book and hoping another book will be coming. The author did a great job of making his end of the world different than most of them. This made for interesting reading to see what else would be different. The characters were well thought out and were not lacking. The narrarator did a fantastic job bringing these charactets to life and making them interesting. I can't wait to see if Phil will be back and to see what other weird things he's got. You won't regret purchasing this book. it's a great one to add to your library. Has lots of action and intense times.

Hoping for a book 2

This book had a different slant on other prepper books I have read. I liked that in this book it is about people helping people. Of course there are always the bad and greedy people of the world. I did not like the short blurb in it about politics. Glad they did not go on any longer about that. It is amazing what Allison does. Cannot wait or hoping for a book 2.

Left me wanting more!!

Personally I have a hard time getting into books but definitely not this one! Allison’s Secret It’s got to be one of the best books I’ve ever read. It is very well written and left me wanting more. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series, and quite frankly I hope there are many more to come!

Predictable but good

This book was good, but it was predictable. SHTF, good people rally bad people try to take from them. This book focuses on a small town the comes together to survive a solar flare. There are a rew twists but most of the book is the same plot as a thousand others. But the book makes sense and is well written. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for a review.

Be prepared!

I loved this book. It really reminded me to be prepared at all times. The story was very believable and isn't one of the completely unbelievable SHTF books. It describes how quickly things could go downhill if things were to go south in society. My only complaint with this book is that I wanted more of it (and that's a good thing).

I really am in love with books narrated by J. Scott Bennett. He has an amazing narration voice and I never hesitate to get a book that he narrates!

great story

I would like a sequel to this, it feels unfinished for me, I'd like to know how they all get on long term. I do hope they had enough toilet rolls to last them.

an enjoyable story, that was easy to listen too.

OK but ...

It did keep me entertained most of the day but there was an awful lot of concern about toilet paper and huge rant about the lazy democrats! Alison’s world is black or white and had no connection to the rest of the world. The lack of knowledge about their own history and how people managed without electricity was astounding.

Allison’s Secret Review

After a solar flare wipes out most of the worlds technology, Allison and her neighbours join together to try and make her town more self sufficient.

However there are people who are believe that they can just take what they want with no consequence. And after trying to help four strangers, all hell literally breaks loose.

There’s a bit of everything in this action paced book for everyone... there’s fun fights which in turn leads to a boy getting shot, bombs, and plenty of sass from Allison herself.

Surprisingly good story

This story primarily involves the story of a woman who was obsessed with being prepared for an emergency. What she did not realize was that the emergency was the end of life as she knew it. It describes what occurs when a solar flare reaches earth and knocks out the power grid for most of the Northern Hemisphere.

There are many obstacles and she has to assist organizing a community so that they can survive the Winter. In the midst of this is a group who are involved in the rescue of a young boy and their encounter with the boy's father and his friends who intend to kill the men and the boys mother.

All very exciting action and too real life in such a situation. The story was well written and involved for a story of this length with no wasted verbiage.

The narration was excellent. The use of multiple voices for individuals by the narrator lent realism to the story and kept it very interesting throughout.

This book was provided free of charge with the expectation of an honest review.
