Publisher's Summary

You can’t bargain with death if you’ve already sold your soul.

Special agent Patrick Collins has been reassigned by the supernatural operations agency to New York City. Navigating his new relationship with Jonothon de Vere, the werewolf he’s now soulbound to, is nothing compared to dealing with territorial disputes between the vampires and werecreatures who call the five boroughs home. But the delicate treaties that have kept the preternatural world in check are fraying at the edges, and the fallout is spilling into the mundane world.

Manhattan’s club scene is overrun with the vampire drug known as shine and the subways have become a dumping ground for bodies. When the dead are revealed as missing werecreatures, Patrick and Jono find themselves entangled in pack politics twisted by vampire machinations.

Learning to trust each other comes with problems for both of them, and the gods with a stake in Patrick’s soul debt aren’t finished with him yet. Bound by promises they can’t break, Patrick and Jono must find a way to survive a threat that takes no prisoners and is stalking them relentlessly through the city streets.

Old and new betrayals are coming home to roost but the truth - buried in blood - is more poisonous than the lies being spun. Trying to outrun death is a nightmare - one Patrick may never wake up from.

All Souls Near & Nigh is a 104,000 word m/m urban fantasy with a gay romantic subplot and a HFN ending. It is a direct sequel to A Ferry of Bones & Gold, and listening to the first book in the series would be helpful in enjoying this one. Engaging, action-packed, and well written

I really liked the first book of the series, but this series is getting better! There is so much written in these pages to keep track of, but Patrick and Jono are such amazing characters. The world created is brilliant, the action is out of this world, and every character is delightfully written. The secondary characters are just as wonderful as the main ones. The tale that was woven is just brilliant. I love seeing Patrick and Jono really come together. It is great to see Patrick really start to trust someone and function as a true partner, even with all of his fear. I really ended up hating the characters I was supposed to hate, loved those I was supposed to love, and appreciated those who I wasn't really sure of because you want to hate them, but they help Patrick.

I listened to the audiobook of this, and it was wonderful. The only thing I did find is that I want to get the ebook as well. There is so much detail that sometimes I found myself wanting to go back and refresh what happened because it was complex.

This was absolutely fabulous. I can't wait for the next book!

OMG I just love this series so much! Patrick and Jono are just so amazing together. I just love see what these meddling Gods are just to do. Gary Furlong is just absolutely perfection for this series. I just can't stop listening and I could listen all day to his voice. He just brings so life to this story.

Demanding Vampires & Meddlesome Gods!

This was a great continuation of this series. I really love the world building that Hailey Turner does and the personalities she gives her characters. There is a lot of action in this book and several new Gods that seem to like making Patrick's life more difficult than it has to be but at least a couple of them were on his side this time and not all of them were working against him. He has so many people to answer to from his own direct supervisor to supervisors of other divisions, demanding vampires, and then the Gods. Jono is always there for him though and their building relationship is an excellent addition to the story. It never overpowers the action but it's always there. I got amused by both of them not wanting the other to go off alone then doing that very thing themselves with their inner dialogue of "huh, maybe he was right and we should stick together", it just goes to show in yet another way that they are perfect for each other. There is still an ongoing storyline with the God Pack in the area that I am anxious to see, I sincerely hope the Alpha's of the God Pack get brought down a notch or two.

Gary Furlong does an excellent job with the narration, I absolutely LOVE his voice for Jono. He brings out each personality wonderfully and keeps the story flowing very well.

A Book Full Of Meddling Gods

This is the second book in The Soulbound Series. A tremendously good book the writing was amazing. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters spellbindingly wonderful. The characters were well developed and thought out. Jono and Patrick are the MC’s of this book. There was humor, wolves, shifters, magic, gods, action, mystery, rescues, friends, binding promises and so much more in this book. I love how rich with details Hailey Turner’s books are. And if on the rare occasion I am wanting a detail it’s usually a wait and I get it in another book. Which can be annoying, but it can also build the suspense. Her world building is another thing that she does great. In this book her mix of fantasy and realism is wonderful. I am now both excited for the next book and nervous about what will happen to the characters. If you have read Hailey’s Metahuman Series, you will understand. The narration was good he had different voices for each character some were stronger than others. He wasn’t monotone, and the flow of his narration was good. He made the book enjoyable to listen too. I would absolutely recommend it as a must read/listen. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

a fantastic tale

All Souls Near & Nigh is the second book in the Soulbound series by Hailey Turner. It is an m/m urban fantasy romance and continuing series that delivers an interesting and action packed story filled with great world building and well developed and wonderful characters that grab your attention, keeps your attention and makes you want more. Patrick and Jonothon are fantastic characters and I love their attraction and chemistry. The book is drama, suspense, heat and love... definitely worth the addition you will get to this series.

Narrator of the audiobook is Gary Furlong. Fantastic job. Great voice that fits the mood and brings it all to life.

A great second book in the series

Patrick and Jono are now soulbound and learning to trust and support each other. The god inside of Jono is making himself known more strongly, while the gods that still hold a debt over Patrick's life are getting more involved with him.

The well defined territories among the werecreatures and the Vampire's are being shifted and obliterated. There is also a new drug created by the Vampire's, called shine, that is causing all kinds of trouble.

Werecreatures are coming up missing or dead, and Jono and Patrick believe they have figured out why. While Jono now has a pack he never expected with Patrick, it grows in this story. I'm all for rooting for pack Jono.

Our MCs end up with a HFN, but I think there is a lot more story to come. I'm looking forward to it.

Gary Furlong did an awesome job with the narration as usual. I have yet to hear him give less than a great performance.

Going to have to listen again!

There is no easy way to say it- you are going to get hooked on this series- if you already aren't. I loved the first book. I was hooked on this book from the first chapter. Patrick and Jono are one hot couple. Not only are they great characters individually, well developed for sure, but when they get together you can feel their bond. The story is well written and developed to the point that you want to continue listening. Gary Furlong's narration kicks it up a notch. Can't wait for the next book!!

Brilliant second in the series

I have been waiting (not all that patiently either!) for this book since listening the first in the series earlier this year, I can safely say that it was worth the wait.
This second book in the Soulbound series continues on a couple of months after A Ferry of Bones and Gold finished and something or someone is killing Werecreatures, the old treaties and alliances are fraying. The immortals are back but this time as well as Hermes popping up, Patrick and Jono are dealing with South American and Aztec Gods - Quetzalcoatl and Tepoztecatl, the Native American trickster God Coyote and the Mexican/catholic death cult Santa Muerta which are seamlessly woven together to make this a very exciting and interesting book, which had me looking up more in reference as I know little of the subjects.
I loved the audible book as a whole, but there are some harsh bits and the trigger warning at the beginning of the book some people may need to be aware of.

Patrick and Jono are settling into their new normal, I really feel that Jono is coming into his own during this book and the chemistry between the pair continues to grow as do the feelings, Marek and the gang are back, as is Lucien and his night court and there are more dealings with the God pack Alphas Estelle and Youssef who are being their normal charming selves, I wanted to slap them silly every time they were on the page.
To say anything else about the plot would ruin the magic of the story so I will just say this, this audible book is another in this highly enjoyable, brilliant and addictive series. I for one cant wait to find out where we the readers get taken to next time.

Fantastic second book, full of action, great story

After enjoying A Ferry of Gold and Bones so much I was really looking forward to this book and it fully lived up to and surpassed what I could have hoped for. There is more in store for Patrick and Jonah and they come to terms with their new Soul Bond and work on a new case that has come Patrick's way. Added to that is the New York city's God Pack and their complete lack of care to other were-creatures that come their way and Jonah's rage at this brings him closer to stepping up against the God Pack.
So much happens in this story and a lot of information carries over from book one so I'd recommend listening to/reading them close together to make sure you remember the people, connections and information and that it all makes sense. If able, I would have listened to this in one sitting but I devoured in only a few days, needing to keep the story going as it was non stop with action and the developing story line. Cannot recommend this book and series enough, Hailey has outdone herself and I am really excited for #3.
Gary Furlong has done another amazing job in narrating this book. I was hooked right from the start and he kept my attention throughout. Fantastic work is done with the voices for each character, giving enough personality and individuality that they were easy to tell apart and enjoy. Emotion was packed into the story by the author and Gary gave his all in providing voice to those emotions, right through the spectrum, for this book.

A Fantastic Sequel to this New Urban Fantasy

All Souls Near & Nigh, the sequel to A Ferry of Bones and Gold, continues on, a couple of months after Patrick and Jono become Soulbonded and learning how it all works.
As in the first book we have a vast array of characters ranging from werecreatures, witches and mages to gods and goddesses.
Where in A Ferry of Bones and Gold the gods were from Egyptian and European cultures, in All Souls Near & Nigh we meet Nuestra Senora de la Santa Muerte, Our Lady of Holy Death, a Mexican/Catholic Goddess,
Tepoztecatl and Quetzalcoatl, both Aztec Gods and the Native American god Coyote or Altse Hashke.
The plot continues to be complex, detailed and exciting and the characters varied.
I am in awe of Hailey Turner’s amazing imagination and attention to detail, this series is a must to all those who have an interest in the fantasy genre not just mm.
I must applaud Gary Furlong on his stellar narration, not only did he do a 5 star performance throughout, especially with Jono’s dialogue, his perfect pronunciation of all the Aztec gods names without hesitation or stumbling was worth 5stars alone! Well done! 👏👏👏
