Publisher's Summary

Feeling jilted and cross, Agatha follows a fortune-teller's advice and rents a cottage in the pretty village of Fryfam, where she hopes good fortune and true love will come chasing after her. Unfortunately, her romantic notions are soon dispelled by the strange goings-on in the village. What are those strange lights in Agatha's back garden? Who is stealing paintings and pottery? And who murdered the local squire? Agatha's nose for trouble leads her into a maelstrom of jealousy, blackmail, and dangerous liaisons....

Agatha raisin grows on you.

Each story I cannot decide if I like Agatha or not. She is a dichotomy. As are many of the characters. It is different from other books l listen to. In the end they are overall fun stories. And I do keep going back for more. What stupid thing will she do next?

Oh no!

Spoiler alert:
Ok, I always thought that Agatha and James marrying would make me happy, but now I see the elephant traps surrounding the newly married couple AND I find myself rooting for Charles! OMG! I never saw that coming. Can't wait for the next book.

Fairies in Fryfam?

This is a fun one. Lots of unusual small village characters, for Agatha to study after a murder or two. She and Charles work together on this one. But what about James? On to the next book to find out.

Love This Series!

I love the characters associated with this series. Agatha is indeed a pistol but comical in her own right. Easy and enjoyable listening.

Mysteries and laughter

I just can't get enough of Agatha. The narrator Penelope is wonderful. The way Agatha tries to get a man takes her hours to change clothes.

It’s just great fun.

Is there anything better than a series where every new edition keeps me as riveted as the last.

Kept my attention but just ok.

I listened to the entire book and it did keep my attention due to the performance of the narrator. The mystery wasn’t too difficult to figure out as I figured it out immediately. I am glad I gave it go however, I’m not sure I’ll listen to anymore of the series.
