Fun read
The story captured my interest right away and I stayed with it to the end. I really did enjoy the two main characters - they had both had difficult lives and yet were gentle caring people. I thought the writer captured Phil's inexperience with women and life well.
Yes the love story was very predictable but the murderous situations they found themselves in was most unexpected. Right to the end.
I really did enjoy.

Definitely delightful...
This was my first MC Beaton book and it was a delightful introduction. Fingers crossed that others live up to it. Characters were fun, setting was cozy, narrator was polished and did not intrude on the story.

good read
I love all of Hamish stories and characters are all great but I didn't like the narrator on this one but story was good

Sweet & Fun! Not to be missed...
I'm a new fan of MC Beaton and this story is one of the reasons why. Fell in love with the characters right away. It was fun to follow them on their adventures. Give it a try. I know you will love it too.

Easy listening
I greatly enjoyed this charming tale! The main characters were relatable and I love the surprise ending! The only reason I gave the story 4 stars instead of 5 is because I would have liked the ending to be developed a bit more.

Great story
In a great story the guy gets the girl and the money, a lot of writers forget that. Really enjoyed the book.

“The Meek” Do Just Fine, Thank You
When I started listening to this book, I had no clue that two “normal nobodies” would find themselves and their inner strength.
This is a fun read.
I simply enjoyed it!
