Publisher's Summary

One kiss lasts a moment. But a thousand kisses can last a lifetime.

One boy. One girl. A bond that is forged in an instant and cherished for a decade. A bond that neither time nor distance can break. A bond that will last forever. Or so they believe.

When 17-year-old Rune Kristiansen returns from his native Norway to the sleepy town of Blossom Grove, Georgia, where he befriended Poppy Litchfield as a child, he has just one thing on his mind: Why had the girl who was one half of his soul, who promised to wait faithfully for his return, cut him off without a word of explanation?

Rune's heart was broken two years ago when Poppy fell silent. When he discovers the truth, he finds that the greatest heartache is yet to come.

A standalone young adult tearjerker romance, recommended for ages 14 and up.

A thousand tears shed

I have had so many people tell me to read this book but it took Audible for me to finally break down and do it.

I see the value in stories like this, I think there is something to learn in grief and heartbreak. I think you can't appreciate the good if you don't experience the bad. I think stories like this makes us more empathetic, sympathetic and kind.

That being said, holy moly was this one sad. I was prepared for it to be heartbreaking and that help, which is why I am warning everyone now... Be prepared to cry!

The narration was amazing. Both PJ and Katie seriously brought the story to life for me. Huge kudos to them!!

what a disappointment!!

so based on the reviews I read this was supposed to be a great heart wrenching story to rival a walk to remember...what a let down! I suffered through the endless cheese factor, hot headed teenage emotions, and monotonous repetitive details and scenes all for it to end in the worst way I could possibly imagine. I will admit the love poppy and rune shared was special, but it was just too much. I could've gotten over the endless cheesy romantic if the ending had gone differently, and for the record I'm not talking about what happened to poppy I'm talking about what happened to rune!
*spoiler*
he dies too and we dont even find out how.
HORRIBLE.
would've been much better if he rose from Poppys death and moved on taking the lessons he learned from her. it's very unrealistic for a 17 year old to become a monk because his gf died. I understand it's a story but it was just too much!!

AND MY HEART ALMOST BURST!!!!!

Would you consider the audio edition of A Thousand Boy Kisses to be better than the print version?

Audio always is, but I only listened!

What other book might you compare A Thousand Boy Kisses to and why?

oh I just dont know this is a sad sad beautiful story!

Which scene was your favorite?

The last one at the beach....

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

ALL OF IT!! The tears flowed....

Any additional comments?

This was a lovely story...tragic, and touching...and I was almost always fully engaged...BUT...there was some time in the beginning that I thought was drawn out a bit to long...and the ending left me needing more closure...like WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO RUNE? Other than that this was soooo sweet..and I loved Poppy and Rune and I shed tears of both sadness and joy...and I am glad they had a forever type of love...it was just an awful HEA ending...I mean I was like WOW...but I did enjoy this listen..and it is well worth your time and a credit!! SOB!!!!

Sadly I think I am in the minority on this book. Maybe I was expecting amazing because I was told by many that this was the book that affected them the most. I'm not saying it was bad or anything like that so please don't take that the wrong way. The book was good just not great. I think it was too much like another famous book with the same story line because I compared them throughout the book even though I was trying not too.
I had a very hard time connecting with these characters and at first I thought it was because they were so young but I quickly realized that was actually the opposite, I had a hard time with them being 15-17 in most of the book but they acted and talked like the were old. No teenagers would react to things the way these 2 did ( well maybe him during his angry time). This was just such a depressing book. I was expecting a very sad depressing ending but honesty it was depressing for more than 2/3 of the book and I need a lot more happy to feel the love and connection so that the sad will hit me the way this book hit others.

I really liked that the love story pretty much started started at age 8, I loved that it didn't matter to either of them what others thought unlike most YA books and I loved that the parents are on their side. Her relationship with her Grandma was sweet and I wish it had lasted longer in the book because I enjoyed the time they were talking.

The narration was a little hard for me because of the male accent but otherwise it was good.

This story hits home to damn hard...

I had to stop on chapter 10 because I lived a very similar love story. It's beautifully written, though... Hard not to fall in love with both characters and their love for each other. I just... can't continue...

Beautiful story of love. Warning: Tear Jerker.

Such a good read. I loved that the Author was able to convey the sincere emotion felt by young kids, too many times adults overlook this. I had to stop reading many times to stop the tears from falling and to get the lump out of my throat.

OMG this is probably one of the best YA books I have read in awhile. Unfortunately, the older I'm getting, the less I gravitate to them. It sort has A Walk To Remember vibes, but otherwise it was really good. I really enjoyed the narrators especially P. J. Ochlan doing the Norway accents.

My Heart

I read this blind and boy was I shocked. What an emotional rollercoaster. I love the idea of the jar with the 1,000 boy kisses, then the ending. WOW what a great book.

Get the tissues ready!

Wow! This book is wow! I knew I would probably cry in this book from hearing about it but this completely blew me away. I had to take breaks throughout the book because it touched my soul so throughly! Poppy is such a beautiful soul. Her take on life is something we can all learn from. I loved how she inspired those around her. Rune was such a tough shell but Poppy broke right through that and taught him there is more to life. Beautiful, beautiful story. It is definitely on my everyone should read list.
