Always brilliant

The duet of White and Pearce are unbeatable. The story becomes real from the very first paragraph and keeps you hooked until "the end". Love these characters, the story, the suspense, mystery, humor and romance. Well done again!

Great narrator, story just ok

The narrator was great, amazing. But the story dragged in the beginning. I like the author and series, but they become formalaic . Characters were under developed in comparison to Rosie and Peter

I absolutely love this author. This book is deep, thought provoking and has an inside look on many subjects I’d never really considered. I can tell by the writing the author does lots of research for her books.

The narrator is the best I’ve ever heard. He narration is what made me buy book 2 in this series when I usually only buy books from the library.

Keeps you on your toes

I enjoyed listening to this book.....the characters personalities created a tension and relief that was very intriguing. The story line was mysteriously interwoven between two distinct settings. Well done.

Fabulous historical fiction

I enjoyed the first book in the series immensely but this second one blew me away. I love the strong female characters of Willa Forsythe and young Margot De Wilde. A perfect mixture of mystery, romance, faith and family values. Willa is not your ordinary woman of this time period, she's out spoken, a professional thief and a self taught violin protege. Margot l, sister of violinist Lukas De Wilde is a fourteen year old mathematical genius in hiding with her mother. The risks these women take are incredible and the way the characters evolve in the book is refreshing. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Amazing work of art

As a violinist and writer, I absolutely loved this book! It spoke to my heart, and I love how the author wove the melody through her words. I can’t wait to read more about the characters!

Oh how I love this series! This simply cannot be the end...we need a story about Barclay and the rest. I said it about A Name Unknown, SO Clever and witty, and so beautiful. And The Lord running like a thread throughout the whole thing. I really like the imperfections of the people in The Family and their tenacity and love for each other. And Liz Pearce brings it all to life! II usually like the voices of the characters in my own head when I read a book, but honestly, the experience could not have even come close to how Liz reads this. Brava Liz Pearce! Please Roseanna M. White, give us more!

One of my favorite books

I loved the storyline as it wove through wartime and the changing situations the characters found themselves in. The characters pulled at the heartstrings as the depth of their commitments and love for others became so real. I loved how the passion for music was woven into the fabric of this story as well. The narration was well done. I hated to see the story end but the ending was satisfying.
