Fabulous series

This author never disappoints, Veronica Speedwell and Stoker are wonderful characters and the Victorian mysteries or investigations are compelling. There are some reoccurring minor characters to add interest. The reader is amazing and adds a lot to the entertainment.

What a fantastic series!

I love this series. It is a great story with fun characters. The dialog is witty and well written. The narrator was so good. She made the book even better, which I can't imagine that was possible. Excelsior!

Love Veronica’s growth

Loving her growth as a person with regards to her relationships, and I never tire of her ‘wool gathering’ moments or Stoker’s ‘Veronica, what are you doing’

Excellent Historical Mystery

Veronica Speedwell is one of my favorite characters in any series and narrator Angele Masters' voice is perfectly suited to the feisty character.
In this story, author Deanna Raybourn reunites 3 of the 4 Templeton Vane brothers for the cause of preventing Tiberius from becoming the next victim of an assassin bent upon revenge. During this adventure, Veronica's partner, Stoker is still furious with her for withholding sensitive personal information about her past. While he holds himself apart, she must figure out the puzzle of who is responsible for the recent murders of Tiberius' old friends and who murdered one of their group 20 years earlier.
Throughout this series, the historical position of women in society is closely examined through the plight of various characters. It's done subtlety so that you hardly realize that you are getting a history lesson.

another beautiful story of love Intrigue romance and wit. I have only one more book to read of the series. hoping that they'll be more to follow

They keep getting better

First- Angele Masters did an excellent job narrating this one. I had issues with some of her narration in others in this series. She had a tendency to get very shrill. This one was perfect.

Second- the story was fast paced and intriguing. The long awaited reconciliation of many of the characters was timely and well written.

Another wonderful adventure of Veronica and Stoker. I absolutely love this author and series. I really enjoyed seeing more of the Templeton-Vane brothers in this book.

Another excellent book.

The excellent narrator brings the story to life. The plot twists and a little more of Merryweather were a good touch.
