They call her Lady Unlucky....

With three dead fiances, Lady Eva Hyde has positively no luck when it comes to love. She sets sail for New York City, determined that nothing will deter her dream of becoming an architect, certainly not an unexpected passionate shipboard encounter with a mysterious stranger. But Eva's misfortune strikes once more when she discovers that the stranger who swept her off her feet is none other than her new employer. Or is it Lady Irresistible?

Phillip Mansfield reluctantly agrees to let the fiery Lady Eva oversee his luxury hotel project while vowing to keep their relationship strictly professional. Yet Eva is more capable - and more alluring - than Phillip first thought, and he cannot keep from drawing up a plan of his own to seduce her. When a series of onsite accidents makes it clear someone wants Lady Unlucky to earn her nickname, Phillip discovers he's willing to do anything to protect her - even if it requires a scandalous deal....

I immediately purchased this book because I loved the first in the series which was narrated my MJW (who is always a favorite). I was disappointed in this narrator… everyone sounded at least 50 and a tad frail which is so opposite of the strong heroine. Really loved the story. Meh on the narration.

Narrator swap!!!

The sex scenes had more delicacy and good information than 90% of these novels. I was able to avoid the howling repugnance of the details in phony, repetitive sex scenes devoid of all sexual tension so that the reader must usually skip over whole scenes or ingest the medication for nausea.
I’m at chapter 13, and find the characters are worth discovering and am looking forward to the promise of a decent story of a talented lady at this point. Finally, an author who cares about correct English and the proper tenses of verbs with the right pronouns. I’m not distracted by all the crummy writing. Thank you.

The writing is a cut above, and the accuracy of the historical context was so much better than what we usually get. Thx

What can I say but it’s Joanna Shupe. I love her stories and her talent of writing. She’s awesome. This book was really good and romantic. The narrator was ok. She made Phillip sound like a young goofy boy. How much better this book would’ve been with ashford mcnab or Beverley a Crick as the narrator. I highly recommend this book as all of Joanna sharpe books

Awesome story ok narration
