Would you listen to A Promise for Ellie again? Why?

Yes. I always seem to hear something I missed in the first listening.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The mother. She sees herself through the struggles of her son and his fiance.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Peter discovered why his nemesis was in the barn before it burned. Humbling.

Excellent book!

I love the narrator! She does the voices and the Norwegian accents perfectly! Makes the characters come alive!

Another good, clean, Christian novel! Stina Nielsen was a very good reader and the story kept me interested. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it highly.

What does Stina Nielsen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I loved her accent!

I really enjoyed this book. I haven't listened to any of the others in this series, but it stands well on its own. The narrator is good, too.

Ellie was my heart went out to her.

Amazing book!

I loved this book from beginning to end! The story and narrator were perfect. I highly recommend!

Enjoyable story real people’s problems

Read many of the Bjorkand family’s stories. This one was about grown up Andrew and Ellie. Andrew as a child made me laugh a lot. Funny but caring little kid.

Amazing story! But there are glitches in the audio

The story is fantastic as all of the Red River stories have been. However, the audio version has some pretty major glitches in that the chapters do not live up at all! I hadn't been having any of these problems with the previous books. For example, the audio will have a pause and then say, "Chapter 35" and it's only halfway through chapter 18, and if you set a timer for the end of a chapter, it will stop mid-sentence or even mid word!

But this did not take away from my enjoyment of the novel. Andrew especially needs to grow up and mature some before he can marry his Ellie, and some very hard life lessons and difficult circumstances serve to help him do so.

I just can get enough of this amazing author and narrator .! Beautifully written and expertly read ,this story took me away from the present into a part of history I could only visit thru this book . As an added bonus we go with God as lauraine weaves scripture with life and teaches us how to live and thrive in God's word !!
