Story
Have you ever wondered "Why did I do that?" or "Why can't I just control my behavior?" Others may judge our reactions and think, "What's wrong with that person?" When questioning our emotions, it's easy to place the blame on ourselves; holding ourselves and those around us to an impossible standard. It's time we started asking a different question. Through deeply personal conversations, Oprah Winfrey and renowned brain and trauma expert Dr. Bruce Perry offer a groundbreaking and profound shift from asking “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”

Humanity now, perhaps more than in any previous time, has an opportunity to create a new, saner, more loving world. This will involve a radical inner leap from the current egoic consciousness to an entirely new one. In illuminating the nature of this shift in consciousness, Tolle describes in detail how our current ego-based state of consciousness operates. Then gently, and in very practical terms, he leads us into this new consciousness. We will come to experience who we truly are and learn to live and breathe freely.

But living a brave life is not always easy: We are, inevitably, going to stumble and fall.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Much of what plagues us—people pleasing, staying in stale relationships, negative habits—all point to what happens when we are out of touch with what truly makes us feel whole.

Instead of being merely the receiver of the parents' psychological and spiritual legacy, children function as ushers of the parents' development. Parents unwittingly pass on an inheritance of psychological pain and emotional shallowness. To handle the behavior that results, traditional books on parenting abound with clever techniques for control and quick fixes for dysfunction. In Dr. Shefali Tsabary's conscious approach to parenting, however, children serve as mirrors of their parents' forgotten self.

Publisher's summary
The flaw in self-help is the notion of self.
A panic-ridden schoolboy. A high school cutter. A suicidal divorced mother of two. A conflicted young man with OCD and his grieving father. Dr. Bhargave has treated children and adults who sought psychiatry as a last resort to stop feeling empty, misunderstood, and unworthy. None came anticipating a spiritual conquest, and each wanted relief in the quickest way possible. While there was no magic pill for a cure, what evolved time and again, through patience and vulnerability, was the tale of hope through adversity. The result is A Moment of Insight.
We all struggle with the same dilemmas. We all question life's purpose. We all feel overwhelmed. We all doubted our worthiness. While A Moment of Insight shines the spotlight on our collective wounds, it also dispenses the collective wisdom of thousands of seekers who dared to be vulnerable within the safe space of a psychiatrist's office.
Through patient stories and personal accounts, this recollection takes the listener on a journey to calm the mind, fortify the spirit, and release the burdens of life. Each chapter offers practical strategies and thought-provoking narratives to not only understand and persevere through challenging dilemmas, but to see greater purpose in these times. At the beginning of every journey is the moment that incites change…A Moment of Insight.

Story
Bonds That Make Us Free is a groundbreaking book that suggests the remedy for our troubling emotions by addressing their root causes. You'll learn how, in ways we scarcely suspect, we are responsible for feelings like anger, envy, and insecurity that we have blamed on others. Even though we fear to admit this, it is good news. If we produce these emotions, it falls within our power to stop them. But we have to understand our part in them far better than we do, and that is what this remarkable book teaches.

When you really care about someone, it’s easy to get stuck in painful, even destructive patterns - caving in to a spouse’s manipulation, ignoring a live-at-home son’s irresponsibility, not confronting a friend’s addiction. Easy Mental Help Guide
This book is an easy read to help us understand why we think negatively about ourselves. The chapters are short but packed full of advice made simple to see where we need to change our thinking. To live a grateful life, realizing how our thinking about ourselves came to be so hurtful.
Letting go of those thoughts and know who and whose you are at heart.
It has been such a heart warming experience for myself, I have listened to it and read it many times also, I have purchased this book multiple times to give to people that I know it can help.
We all need help knowing that mental issues are very real and what helps is understanding them. Then learning that sometimes medication is needed to fix a chemical imbalance in our brain and that is okay. We take medication for heart issue and other body issues so why not for our brains. Please buy and read this book, you won’t regret it and it is always a special gift to those you care about. Live a Grateful Life!

A roadmap to healing!!
There is great strength, inspiration and transformation in vulnerability. Dr. Bhargave's book took me by surprise in the most insightful way. His vulnerable truth telling walks the reader through his personal moments of insight in a way that provides examples for the reader to step into their own ownership of their significant life experiences. The only way out of a heavy mental/emotional burden, is through it. By bringing it out into the light of awareness we can untangle the experience(s). This book provides a road map on how to do just that. A road map for healing and the key to freedom.
Dr. Bhargave's gentle and loving voice, guides the reader inward towards self acceptance, realizations and moments of insight as he shares his personal journey and the insights of his patients. This book is perfect for the sensitive person, who is ready to integrate the experiences of the past in a healthy way.

Thoughtful Insight
This book was an eye opening look into the processing and healing of those dealing with anxiety. Dr. Bhargave offers incredible insight and powerful healing techniques to help any of us dealing with our own or a loved ones anxieties. His artful use of anecdotes from his own patients (ranging from school aged children to adults) as well as his own personal challenges, allows the reader to engage on a very meaningful and relatable level. I have bookmarked many pages in this book, which I have referred back to for the incredible coping techniques he offers, not only for myself, but also for lessons with my sweet children. This is a great read for anyone, dealing with anxiety or with a loved one who may have anxiety!

Literary tapestry
This book is a wonderful tapestry of a provider who has deep connection with his patients as he reveals personal struggles that provide the threads that weave him with his patients (and vice versa) that are interwoven with a deep sense of spirituality and our connection with God. It is part self-help, part story telling, and part self realization. A must read if you have have any issues with anxiety or fear, big or small. You are likely to have your own moment of insight as Dr. Bhargave’s captive listener.

A Moment of Insight
This book came highly recommended and lived up to the many recommendations it received. I have heard Dr B speak on several occasions, always leaving his talks wanting more and savoring the kernels of wisdom he shared. This book was that and more. He started by sharing stories of patients and then moved on to share his personal story. These stories shared the courage and strength to consider personal growth. This book wasn't a how to book or self improvement book but through storytelling, Dr B shared stories which opened doors for reflection and a moment of insight.

Many Insightful Moments
This book takes you on an inquisitive journey through the human experience, asking tough questions like “Who am I?” and what it mean to look “within.” He provides answers with clarity.
With several case reports, (through stories of his patients) there is a lesson for everyone. The *power* of vulnerability is described throughout the book.
“...sharing gives relief that accompanies safe disclosure.”
”...the divinity of her soul saw the light but her own humanity reminded her to doubt.”
The stakes get higher when the author reveals an incredible secret about himself, one that he has kept since childhood.
Sometimes, experiencing adversity first hand, as he did gives a more insightful, honest interpretation & practical advice.
This book chronicles stories that are as compelling as they are educational. It flows with ease & is a page- turner. You will want to keep it as a reference, as MOI will be a book that you can refer to to help yourself & others.
