Frances Hodgson Burnett (1849 -1924) was an English-born author of romances and books for children. After moving to America in 1865, she established a popular reputation with the publication of That Lass o’ Lowrie’s in 1877. She is best known for such novels as Little Lord Fauntleroy, The Little Princess, and The Secret Garden.

Happy Grownup

I know I read it as a child, but I didn’t remember it at all. It’s exactly what a child’s story should be, but also, for this adult, it worked, and I loved it. And l know how soothing and hopeful it must have been for me as an unhappy little girl.
