Publisher's summary

The King of the Wild Hunt has been safely returned to his throne at Castle Tor, but the hunt for his assailant is far from over.

Jinx Ap Nudd didn’t think anything could be as bad as leaving her old life behind. She was wrong. Accusing your sister-in-law, heir to the bordering Redcap Kingdom, of treason is so much worse.

She’d did it for a good cause...even if her family can’t understand her reasoning just yet.

For now, keeping them in the dark is the only way to secure their safety, and with the help of her partner, Kapriel, and her sort of lover, Draven Hellguard, she’ll ensure they stay that way.

The hunt for the traitor has led Jinx straight to the Redcap Kingdom, where everyone is guilty until proven innocent, and no one is pleased about Jinx’s presence within the walls of their castle.

When one of her few allies is found close to death, the pressure to find who’s behind this, rises.

But just as she’s closing in on the traitor, they slip past her defenses like a tendril of smoke, leaving flames of chaos in their wake.

Great story

Fast paced fantasy with mystery and romance mixed in. This book picks up where book one left off trying to find out the identity of the person who is kidnapping people. I love the mystery in this story and the characters. With all the twist and turns in this story I can not wait to listen to the next book. The narrator does a wonderful job

For a mature 18+ audience.

I went into this blind because I have not listened to the first book, but I didn't feel like I was missing out much. So the King of the Wild Hunt is returned alive, a traitor remains uncaught, and it is up to Jinx to figure out who it is.

The story takes place in the Redcap Kingdom, where her oldest brother Gerant and her sister-in-law Isa rule. There's a lot of tension in the air, but thank goodness for Kapriel. His banter with Jin was definitely a highlight; they may not be blood-related, but their throwing insults into the mix in a loving way was like your typical sibling squabble. Oh and Draven is definitely my favourite! Everyone dismisses him as just the King's second-in-command and Jinx's bodyguard, but he plays a pivital part in Jinx's life. Though he may feel insecure about his social standing (even as Jinx's not-so-secret consort), their attraction is undeniable. The sexy scenes were passionate and scorching, a welcome break between the mission to solve the mystery of who is behind all of this mess.

I liked the whodunnit element: things are not as simple as they appear. Whoever it is, they are definitely close to Jinx's inner circle. Elle Sonali does a decent job narrating the story, but the high-pitched, voice-crack inflection takes some getting used to. I would recommend this for those who enjoy mystery, strong familial bonds, and erotic tales. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Keeps getting better!

Oh my goodness this book! I loved listening to it! The story is engaging and the characters are amazing. The narrator does a great job of bringing them to life and I love that. Jinx is amazing and she and Draven together are magic. Kapriel is humorous and I love listening to his reactions to things, but he is there to support Jinx however he can. I love that she had these two men in her corner. There are so many twists and turns and I cannot wait to see what happens next.

The hunt continues...

As a master of the Wild Hunt, Jinx finds her search for the traitor that kidnapped her father, leading to the kingdom of the Redcaps where her brother and sister-in-law reside. Everyone is a suspect as the story quickly picks up pace and we’re introduced to more characters and twists, adding additional intrigue and mystery around the plot. I enjoyed the balance of action and romance in this book, and sidekick Kapriel is a hoot, as he lends some humor to the dramatics of this tale. The intimacy between Jinx and Draven is definitely hot and looking forward to seeing their relationship grow while dealing with the complications as the treason in their kingdom is unveiled. Narrator Elle Sonali gave a great performance! I especially enjoyed her portrayal of Jinx with her kickass, witty, take charge personality. Elle’s wide array of secondary voices also allowed for a very smooth and easy to follow listening experience.

Hunting a Traitor

I liked this fast paced fantasy/mystery/romance where a young woman and her entourage visit the neighbouring kingdom trying to track down the traitor who kidnapped her father and threatened her family. There's lots of action, lots of intrigue and enough sex and romance to keep things interesting.
Book 2 of a series although I had no problem following the plot without having read the first book. It does leave several things unresolved however, so if you're not a fan of continuing series, that might be a problem for you.
All in all, a good story, well written and well read by Elle Sonali.

Great continuation.

This book picks up well after A Reluctant Huntress. Jinx's story now takes a new turn after the accusation of her sister-in-law. This story just keeps you on the edge from the twits and turns. Now she must find out who the true traitor is and hope all her allies are friends. Excited for the next book in the series.

Jinx is amazing...

I loved the progression of Jinx and Draven. Their relationship get so much more intense and I won't give it away but their is one sence that is just too cute of Draven you'll know it when you read it. Also I still am a huge fan of Kap, he is just flat out hilarious. The mystery of who has threatened and hurt her family continues to unfold in the most interesting ways. And dang girl at how you left me hanging and the end, need the next one now.
