Publisher's summary

The first book in The War Chapters Series, A Hero Rises: Moroni and the Battle for Manti, introduces listeners to Captain Moroni, and how at an early age he came to command a large army in a time of extreme national danger. We follow Moroni though tragedy and triumph, helping all listeners to gain a deeper understanding of why Mormon said of him “...if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever...” (Alma 48:17, Book of Mormon).

Great work Jason

I met Jason at a conference where he was selling his books. I thought this was a pretty cool idea and when I saw he had the first one on Audible picked it up. I was really surprised how well Jason transformed a relatively short story in the Book of Mormon over to a full length book. It really helped me think about the interactions between the people involved in the story and how they had to deal with real issues in their day. I thought the story was great, and Jason did a great job with the voices. I am really looking forward to the next two books! Hurry up Jason! :)

Outstanding! ❤️

I really enjoyed listening and hearing the characters come to life. I loved Moroni before reading this book, but now feel like I can actually relate to such a great person.
I was doubtful in the beginning, but after a few chapters I was hooked. The characters are all amazing and I love to listen to them interact, they make the story so much more lovable.
This book is definitely non-stop action through the whole thing and keeps you wanting to know what comes next, and how they will outsmart their enemies.
The only complaint I have is that there is only the one voice actor, I feel it would greatly benefit from having more voices that were easily recognizable.
But overall I absolutely love this book! And can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
