Publisher's summary

From the authors of the best-selling series Cherringham.

It's Midsummer in Mydworth - and celebrated medium Bellamy Smythe is in town with his lucrative supernatural show, claiming he can contact the departed. Still deep in mourning from the loss of her father in the Great War, spinster Alice Wetherby is desperate to make contact with 'The Other Side' and Smythe is happy to oblige - even though Alice is quite broke. Suspecting that Alice is being played, Harry and Kat investigate. As the Midsummer festivities intensify, they find themselves in a game of high stakes deception and clever tricks, where nothing is what it seems, and everyone is a suspect...

Nathaniel Parker, born in 1962, graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and went on to join the Royal Shakespeare Company. His television career began in 1988 when he played Flying Officer 'Flash' Gordon in the LWT mini-series Piece of Cake. He is also the lead in the BBC series The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, based on the novels by Elizabeth George. Nathaniel Parker has an extensive list of audio books to his credit, ranging from the classics of Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy to more modern writings and children's books.

another delightful book in the series.

I wish there were more books in thus series. I didn't expect it to end so abruptly. I will truly miss it. it was a wonderful and fun, well written series of stories.

Fun cosy mystery

I enjoy having a Mydworth Mystery on while I’m cleaning, doing dishes or other chores, it makes the work go faster. They are light listens that are entertaining.

One technical annoyance

The stories of this series are good listening when working in the home or garden, or on a long drive. Other reviewers have said that adequately.

The one annoying bug is that for some reason the first word following a pause in the narrator’s voice, such as when beginning a new paragraph, is very often cut off. It is a glitch that I wish someone would remedy.

Exceptional Blend

This is my all time favorite Cozy Mystery Series. Well written, touch of Romance, well developed characters, great intriguing pots and perfectly narrated. I hope they write as many Mydworth as they have Cherrigham.

Good read!

scam, husband-and-wife-team, historical-fiction, historical-research, short, suspense, 1930, secrets, small-town, cosy-mystery, amateur-sleuth, England*****

The mystery in this episode centers around unmasking a charlatan. An acclaimed medium has been invited to Mydworth by a woman living in genteel poverty who desperately wants to communicate with her dead father (or even her brothers who died in The Great War). A friend asks the pair to debunk this crook and the sleuthing begins.
Whether you've kept up with this series, haven't read one in over a year, or never read one at all, I guarantee that you'll be as caught up in this as I was. And they make a great background while doing mindless tasks or sitting and waiting!
Nathaniel Parker brings the characters alive and adds to the suspense!

Loved it

The mystery wasn’t up to their usual standards. I love it when they mix real (Amelia Earhart) with fiction. Kat was magnificent and I loved their banter very real to me. The narrator was as always without fault. Looking forward to New York.

A good “cozy “ series.

Nice to get into a series such as this - main characters are familiar so you can enjoy their further development Also attend to often complicated plot &’setting.

Keeps getting better

Love the series. Narrator is tops as is the plot and characters. Not sure how Mr. Parker does it yet I look forward to his work.

Series started off well and just keeps getting better. Kat And Harry are interesting and complex characters. The background characters complement the story and occasionally offer insight.

I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a mystery.
