Publisher's summary

No communication. Limited power. An unbreakable will to survive.

A violent blast of solar magnetic radiation plunges much of Earth into darkness. From the decaying orbit of the powerless ISS to a devolving Southeast Texas neighborhood and a secret doomsday bunker buried deep underneath the Colorado Rockies, The SpaceMan Chronicles tells the story of a stranded astronaut, his family and friends on the ground, and a shadowy conspiracy to rebuild the world in the shape of a new society.

It's written with the help of former astronauts, NASA team members, and well-respected astrophysicists that give the trilogy a unique sense of detail and desperation.

This bundle includes:

Spaceman: book one

Descent: book two

Retrograde: book three

Unique in its scope, excellent in its delivery!

I was able to purchase the boxed set of this series, which includes all three books of the trilogy; Spaceman, Descent, and Retrograde. I had listened to the first volume Spaceman over a year ago, enjoyed it, and reviewed it. Now I have the opportunity for the second and third volumes. Book two picks up as our intrepid astronaut Clayton Shepard manages an unguided reentry to get himself back on Terra firma. Not knowing exactly where he is Clayton makes an educated guess and heads for safety. Back at home everyone is dealing with the power loss and not knowing what has happened or how long it will last, which is probably worse. Deep Six Nikki and Rick are my favorites. Even though only a short amount of time has passed since the event the ne’er do wells begin to make themselves known. Meanwhile the government with select others make plans to tuck its tail and head for the mountain; Cheyenne Mountain that is. Or are they? Seems there is more to this selective evacuation than meets the eye. With the possibility of a second CME conspiracy theories abound as the government initiates the Descent Protocol. Illuminati in the house! This story gets better and better! Book three was a considerable slower pace than prior volumes. The second CME has come and gone with devastating results. This third book focused more on the conspiracy and conversely, Clayton’s efforts to get home. The Spaceman Chronicles trilogy is unique in its scope and excellent in its delivery of a possible future. I heartily recommend this series to any post-apocalyptic fan.

Well done

I read, and listen to a lot of books, Post apocalyptic being my favorite. This book I rate as one of the best, that I've listened to. Great story line, great character development, and an informed author.

Didn’t want the book to end!

Amazing audiobook with well defined characters and storyline. I really enjoyed the astronaut angle, it added a new twist to the SHTF genre.

Incredibly predictable

Laughably predictable. The set up of each character essentially telegraphs every thing they will do. Who will live, who will die, who will come for revenge and ultimately fail? Should we have killed the bad guy when we had the opportunity? Will the good guy live? I’m guessing yes. But no need to finish. I’m bored.

Great concepts and excellent writing.

I enjoyed the different perspectives and challenges faced by each person in the novel. The situations faced had enough twists to maintain interest without losing the reader in a mindless shell game of plots and subplots.
The only area which became somewhat tedious was the constant introspection and self flagellation that every one of the heroes seemed obsessed with.
Other than that the novel flowed well and was highly entertaining.
The huge bonus was Kevin Pierce as the narrator - in my mind he could read the dictionary and make it sound interesting.

A good read

A good read. Good knowledge and imagination. I wish the characters were more realistic - you know, without super-human capabilities and surviving multiple crashes while severely wounded. But still an entertaining read. I love Kevin Pierce as a performer/narrator. Thanks

Illuminati and the Freemasons

It started off well and then veered pretty hard into grand conspiracy territory where it lost me.

If you hate FEMA and are terrified of the potential of the dreaded FEMA camp, this book was probably written just for you. Conservative religious tropes are all over the place towards the end.

I stuck it out to figure out what the "offal" room was but had to give it up with about 4 hours left because the tropes and the grand conspiracy were getting in the way of the story and I was kinda starting to hope the worst would happen to everyone given how silly it all got.

Oh look a squirrel!

This book is reminiscent of someone texting while driving who looks out their side window and says... Oh look! A squirrel!

Interesting plot

Good STR at times struggled to stay engaged. Action scenes do make up. Narrator did well and kept you engaged.

The Solar flares !!!

The author Tom Abrahams is one of the known for writing excellent books and doing it beautifully.
This one is a trilogy and once again shows us how fast humans turn into animals when the complete infrastructure collapses because of lost of electricity and everything that uses microchips.
As I’m writing this review of the trilogy I’m still not done listening and as of now it’s very similar to all of books of this genre so nothing special yet which is disappointing for now with some very stupid behavior that you wouldn’t accept from adults.
The only thing that could save this trilogy is a very good twist or a few twists because that as of now if it continues the same way there is no hope and for me a waste of 22 hours of listening.
Yep this was a waste of time, Tom Abrahams is an awesome writer but not with this trilogy,
The Traveler series starting Marcus Battle is so much better and recommended.

Kevin Pierce is an awesome narrator which never misses a beat !!!

I’m sorry but I can’t
Recommend this trilogy.

Oded Ostfeld.

A far fetched but enjoyable post apocalyptic

I'm not an expert in the genre but this was an enjoyable book that kept me up and ended up bingeing.

individuallly each step seems unlikely but enjoyable. the first book was fantastic, the second was good and I had only the interest in the end for the third.

would still recommend and it was well narrated.
