Sarah J. Maas
Sarah J. Maas' sexy, richly imagined series continues with the journey of Feyre's fiery sister, Nesta.
Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can't seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.
The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre's Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta's orbit. But her temper isn't the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other.
Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.
Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance - and healing - in each other's arms.

Even in the midst of all that the book was great. A lot of people couldn’t stand Rhys and Fey in this book and complained about how they were toward nesta but why should they bankroll her downward spiral? I really enjoyed Nesta’s journey to embrace herself the good, bad and ugly and embrace and work through her emotions it is no small feat and to watch her grow, break and heal was really a beautiful thing.
If you can withstand the narration the book is great

Read the book. Skip the audible version of this one. You’ll enjoy it more, trust me.
LOVED the book, COULD NOT STAND NARRATOR!!

I dont mind the voice it just does not work for this series and these characters! It immediately made Feyre seem like a whiny, not confident character.
Rhys like a big jerk (not in the... for the good of people kinda way) There was no kindness and openess to Mor or the lovable snobbery that Ameron is known for.
Its like the narrator never read the previous books in the series. I wouldn't mind listening to this narrator in a different book series but for this one it ruined it!
I also don't mind the mature themes that Sarah J Mass has been adding to her stories, except that it is not coming across right to me.
The first three books had some mature themes but they were done so elagantly and so intwined with the story line it was seemless and perfect .
In this book the scenes seem pushed, rushed and childish in a way. It definitely does not further the storyline. It kinda seems like it's just thrown in there with no true purpose.
Sarah J Mass has always done these mature scenes in such a way that it elevates the story, but in this one it actually knocks it down a bit.
Like I said I am halfway through and it has frustrated me so much that I had to do a review.
The story really is working its way through pretty well and the concept is in true ACOTAR fashion but it just has a disconnect to it. (Super Sad)
Now with all that being said I am still and will always be a Sarah J Mass fan! She made me fall back in love with this genre. She has a way of taking this genre and making it sophisticated!
UPDATE:
The story really picks up and takes you through all the emotions! A great story! Even with the narration and a few oddly placed mature scenes thrown in there ... It is an awesome story! Well worth the credit and wait !
