Terrible California Accent

This narrator would be better suited to a different book. Much more formal than necessary. The sister character is unnecessarily obnoxious. The American boyfriend is very controlling and the narrator's accent is cringe-worthy. I was so annoyed it was hard to finish.

A Fun Cozy Mystery

A really good story Kate Palmer is a great character and I’m definitely moving onto the next book in this series. Also, I love any story with a dog.

Oh my

I enjoy the narrator, and the overall story, but find some of obvious traps Kate is subjected to laughable! My six year old granddaughter wouldn’t fall for some of them.

Great story!

I love these books and the narrator is wonderful except for Woody’s accent. I doubt there’s a single person in the whole of California who talks like he does on these audiobooks. Whatever that accent is, it’s not a Californian.

Diverting, but for the Die-Gawksin…

It was fine. I enjoyed it… But…
if you’re going to perform a 6-hour read where digoxin (di-ˈjäk-sən) is the murder weapon, maybe make an elementary attempt to pronounce it slightly closer to correctly. Other than that the performance was just ok. I had to speed it up…

simple predictable story

I was missing some kind of suspense! The narrators voice sounded at times like an AI !

Good story line. Terrible narration.

The narration of this book is so bad that it detracts from the story. I am finding it a struggle to get through this book for that reason. The narrator's odd inflections and poor acting grates on my nerves and I can only listen to the book in small segments. This is a book better read than listened to.
