Publisher's summary

Though she has known hardships in her life, Ingeborg Bjorklund chooses to focus on all she has been given. Blessed with children and grandchildren, she enjoys the friendship and support of the entire Blessing, North Dakota, community. And after several years of widowhood, she has reached a place of contentment with her life.

Meanwhile, her stepson, Thorliff, is raising two children alone since his beloved Elizabeth died. But there is a new schoolteacher in town, Louisa Gutenburg, and Thorliff doesn't seem to be himself whenever she's around. It isn't just his obvious fascination with Louisa, but the fact that he seems completely oblivious to it that makes Ingeborg smile. How long before Thorliff realizes what everyone else can see a mile away?

But not everything is comfortable for Ingeborg. One of her dearest friendships is changing - and she will have to decide if her settled, predictable life is worth more to her than a future she hardly dares to imagine.

Ouch!

I am so disappointed in the narrator. Couldn’t tell the difference between male , female and children.

She mispronounced the name of Thorliff. I have loved this family and have followed them. I was so excited to listen to this book. Not sure I can listen to another book with this narrator.

Love the narrator! Love the author!

These are some of the best books I’ve ever listened to. The historical events that occurred during this period of time along with the way of life and hardships people in this area of the country lived through, especially being told from the standpoint of Norwegian immigrants make these book so interesting! There are so many historical details and the characters lives are so woven together that I still hear something new even when I listen to them again. In addition they are so wholesome and are filled with so many Biblical truths that they are comforting to listen to over and over.

What a beautiful book

I dare anyone to not fall in love with the characters of this story. It encourages me to fall in love with the life God has given me and do the next right thing that is put before me. I will love my kids and husband better because of this book.

Bridge the Gap !!!

While I have thoroughly enjoyed this entire Series, I was horrified by the enormous gap between this Book and the previous. I only just began listening, so perhaps the author explains later, but to jump from Thorliff being a teenager to suddenly being widowed (which I only know from reading the intro) to having three children, and to Ingaborg being widowed (again only understood from the intro) and entertaining Mr. Gould ... the reader is left feeling entirely cheated in understanding everything that happened in the interim — it’s as if the author suddenly decided she was tired of this series and ended it abruptly. I’m not sure I will continue listening to this last book. Deeply disappointed to say the least.

This Series is Beyond Amazing!

I have loved this whole series from Red River of the North, Return to Red River of the North, and beyond. I don’t even know how many books there are. You learn to love Ingabord and all of the characters. You laugh with them and you cry with them. You never want the books to end. This is my favorite books and characters of all times. Be blessed!

Disappointed in gap

Loved the series. But disappointed in the huge gap. And what about Penny? And Agnes family
