Horrible Narration

One of the few audiobooks I’ve ever returned!!! The narrative is phrased badly and is so distracting that I couldn’t stand it! Shame because I think it could have been a good story!

Whoa! I should've read this sooner!

Amanda and Paul Davis seemingly have the perfect life, but that's so far from the truth. Amanda wants a divorce, and Paul doesn't want to give it to her because it wouldn't look good for his career. However, after an accident on the way home from a gala, everything changes, and hiding a murder while trying to keep up appearances is difficult. Something's gotta give and someone's going down, but who will it be exactly?

Kept my interest throughout

Well narrated, all characters voiced well. Interesting story, but too many horrible and painful things happened for the reader to endure, detracting from being a pleasant read. The one bright spot, Dr. Grant, had so much potential. Amanda said she felt a genuine connection with him, a strong mutual attraction. But, she never followed up on it and it was completely dropped from the story. The story ends without ever bringing him back in. She does, however, pick up a guy in a bar, which goes wrong. It's too bad Amanda didn't have better sense and make better decisions, better choices, along the way.

The book keeps you pulled in and engaged all the way to the end. Would definitely recommend. Love her books.

I was expecting more from the ending - what happened when or if he got released? How did she end up killing her husband. I needed more. Nice read overall

This was well written. I didn't see the ending coming! I would read another book from this author.

Another “Gone Girl” Story by a Robotic Narrator

The “twist” at the end, was expected, this story reminds me of Gone Girl, The Good Girl, The Perfect Marriage, but at least in those books, the characters were likeable.

The husband was so unlikeable, that I was rooting for him to be taken away in the second chapter.

As far as the narrator goes, she sounds robotic and gives the wrong intonation at the wrong time, not sure if this is how the author and editor wanted the book to sound, but I had to speed up the voice to make it somewhat bearable.

Virtual voice?

Sad how a poor narrator can ruin what might otherwise be an enjoyable story. I hate listening to virtual voice narration, but it would have been preferable in this instance. The narrator made everything seem lascivious or sinister. It could either be unfamiliarity with the story or lack of skill in interpretation.

Kept me turning pages

Loved the suspense and surprise ending. Didn’t see that coming. I highly recommend this book.
