This sequel to A Pinch of Magic is another spellbinding sisterly adventure, this time with a haunted shipwreck, a fierce pirate, and, of course, a little magic!

The family curse has been lifted, and the Widdershins sisters - Betty, Fliss, and Charlie - are free to leave the misty prison isle of Crowstone. But when a mysterious girl arrives at their inn accompanied by a will-o'-the-wisp, or ghost, it seems another adventure has landed on their doorstep. The stranger, named Willow, is an escaped prisoner from nearby Lament, desperate to clear her father's name before he's executed for a crime he didn't commit.

Then Charlie is kidnapped by poachers, swept away on a dangerous mission in search of pirate treasure that's protected by a vengeful ghost. Betty, Fliss, and Willow pile into their trusty boat and embark on another incredible adventure, one that involves ghosts, fierce pirates, and a journey to a mythic island that exists only in legends. Can they save their sister - and themselves - once more?

I really love this book A sprinkle of sorcery, but having some struggles with the narrator. I love hearing Nicky Diss read out loud, but she adds a bit of a long excerpt between starting areas like for example " Taking an empty potato sack from a hook, she knelt by the cupboard and began stuffing the tobacco tins inside it" and the narrator begins an extra excerpt before she begins the next line " What are you doing? Betty asked " I hope that someday if this audio can follow the book instead of adding extra excerpts, I would enjoy the story even more. Hope the writer Michelle can help with that someday. And instead of saying robe pocket, narrator says dressing gown pocket even though dressing gown is not what's written in the actual book

Great story and hard to follow along with narrator

My 13-year-old daughter and I listened to the story together . It’s a very well written book with an exciting plot line, with well shaped characters. Lots of plot twists. The narrator is great, we would definitely recommend it to children and adults alike.

Great story.

I look forward to listening to more books being read by the same person she did all the parts well

Well written and phenomenally read! I’m not sure if there are morebooks this series

This marine adventure should satisfy any kid's thirst for quest. When everything is a matter of life and death, prison or pirates, the young ladies take charge when the adults are either absent or antagonists. As decisions reveal their true character (so we are told), they show fierce loyalty to family and tentative loyalty to others their age, even to the point of taking their dad's boat without permission in order to save said family. They have to brave temptations that would have sunk Odysseus and beguilements galore. It is also fortunate to have the author's sprinkle of a series of fortunate events.
A standalone story, but worthy of a third installment.

Good October read
