A superpowered colony falling to corruption. The fate of millions at stake.

Out on his own as a surveyor, Major Corbin sleeps under the stars and calls his own shots. As a one-man operation without powers on a space colony with power-abusing supers, this is the life.

Nothing lasts forever.

The chance discovery of a mysterious substance changes everything when he gains superpowers and learns that it’s the key to saving the colony from an evil that nobody but he knows is coming.

The kicker? Gaining powers means waking an ancient being that might be the difference between saving the universe or dying in the process.

If you love science fiction with the added awesomeness of superpowers, you’ll enjoy Supers: Rise Up.

obviously R.C. Bray as narrator made this book come alive, but the mythos of the world has enough going for it that I can't wait to see where the rest of the series heads!

A quick fun book

So I'm probably not the only person who has or is going to get this book because of R.C Bray narrating it. He like always did an amazing job.

Now as far as the story itself it's not bad, some elements or pieces of it aren't really original but it's not so much that it doesnt feel like it's own thing too.

I wont get into the contents further for fear of giving spoilers except to say that the end of the book feels like end of a chapter but instead it's like BAM end of the book. Catches you off guard if you're not paying attention to how much of the book is left. That's the only reason story got 4 stars for me.

Story is ok narrator is best part

Let me start off blunt. This is not your childhood "superhero" book. There is murder and in graphic detail. So little Timmy may not be a suitable audience. The pacing felt a little rushed, what was narrated in under 8 hours could have, and should have been fleshed out in 10-12 hours. Some portions like his "training" get rushed while other areas get full chapters of detail. Overall a fun and enjoyable experience for Adults who want a more realistic take on how "supers" would behave in a society still mostly populated by "normals".

R.C Bray, the Man, the myth, the Legend. Always brings out such humor, gruff, and at times tenderness to the female characters. If you want a full Fledged experience look no further. He has such a range of voices that no characters feel like repeats.

A suprisingly graphic start to a series
