Fast summary
Book starts off with everyone living a human life. Also Living back with her father and mother. Both the main female character and her fox/man are learning to live without magic. They eventually break and go see the fairy queen but she has her demands. Which is hard to do when the council and families are trying to capture or kill you.

My review
This one is mixed feelings. Thinking hard about it. The storyline is great. I had parts that I loved and laughed at. Then parts that left me frustrated. More of the choices made by few of the characters. So the last book ended with her giving up her powers to save Harris. He never thanked her and mostly treats her bad. Always snarking at her with no support. But apparently she enjoyed it. He was my least favorite character. I believe she looked weaker cause of it. If You can accept that treatment and smile about it, when she started the series out so strong and speaking up for herself. She also is one I grew frustrated with. She made bad choices. Then when it was a tough situation, she got in her head. Coming off weak or whinny. Her image all together was more weak and less strong heroin. She still had great parts that kept you tolerating her. Farris character seemed to be pushed to the back of the story. Was not really part of a whole lot compared to other books.

Narration was great, but wish Troy Duran had more parts

Would I recommend?
Yes it’s worth finishing out the series. Still has a great storyline. Underline romance. Action. And mystery. Oh and can’t forget the sexy parts. Great ending with closure and laughter.
I would be interested in hearing about daisies story. Like I can Imagen she would make a great one.

Here is one little spoiler that will not affect the storyline. And just noted because I have a dislike for this character so much.

Harris throughout all books does not make her orgasm in intercorse. She even mentions one time about her worried he was going to leave her hanging again. She does have orgasms, but one of the other guys are always doing the deed. Literally another has to jump in after he’s finished because he finishes first before her.
So not only is he a major asshole and does not know how to treat a woman. He can’t please a woman under the sheets without assistance.
Many reasons why I dislike the guy.

The author was great though. You can definitely tell a storyline is good when you have characters you love and characters that you hate. You are emotionally attached to the well-being and the outcome of the story.
I listened to both series released by her on audible and like them both.

It’s good but frustrating

This book was such a roller coaster of good and bad writing. I hate when MCs are given tools, and then don’t use them. I can overlook that. But when a FMC has been kicking ass for 2.5 books and suddenly turns into a blubbery mess who can’t do a thing for herself and yells at the men to help her(and distracts them from their own part of the fight). I lose it. I seriously yelled, “Get over it and fight you dumb B…!”

But then, there is a scene near the end that had me laughing so hard I almost had to pull over. So, balance, I guess?

Also, why no follow up with the best friend?

I loved listening to this series! Lauren Sweet’s performance was flawless, she gave life to each character and the story was rich and spicy in just the amount. 🩵🩷💛
