Publisher's summary

A New York Times best seller! Don't miss this latest Krewe of Hunters book — an all-new standalone story featuring the FBI's elite paranormal team.

Someone wants to watch the city burn....

Sienna Murray was only 14 when she pulled her neighbors out of a raging house fire. A decade later, she still can’t explain what happened that night, how she knew to save them at just the right moment — or why she receives the same mysterious warning when it happens again....

New member of the Krewe of Hunters elite paranormal team Detective Ryder Stapleton doesn’t believe in coincidences. So when the suspicious fire he’s called to investigate reveals a cryptic link to Sienna, he can’t help but think the unassuming museum curator has something to hide. But he soon discovers they have more in common than he ever thought — and a growing attraction neither can deny.

If they're going to have a future, Sienna and Ryder need to catch a serial arsonist roaming the shadowy streets of New Orleans…before the city burns down around them.

Love the story; bugged by the reader.

This narrator needs some lessons on Cajun pronunciation. I wince every time he says bagnets instead of baynyea , and Terrebona instead of Terrebone (just like the skeleton parts). Otherwise not bad. HG did her usual good storytelling.

Heather Graham as always writes a great story. She kept me in suspense to the very end of the story.

Good story

Love Heather Graham’s Krewe of Hunters books!! This narrator wasn’t the worst, and could have been much more enjoyable if he would stop the rhythmic and choppy way he spoke. Not sure why he chose to deliver much of the dialogue with this choppy narrator way of speaking.
I was able to follow most of the characters even still.
Great Krewe book!

Conflicted over Sienna

The heroine was aggravating. she did not seem to respect the hero, a trained LEO or his partner on the case, an FBI agent. she also constantly dismissed her instincts as " her imagination." - so frustrating. She did not reach " to stupid to live" levels in that although she constantly sighed over the concerns of the hero, she did at least follow his advice. Otherwise decent plot, good story and good narration

My Thoughts

I enjoyed the book.
It was a unique idea the way some interactions took place, I'd never seen/read it done that way before.
I enjoyed the narration.

Definitely not my favorite.

Definitely not my favorite. To use an old expression, the reader’s herky- jerky style left a lot to be desired. He did not have the voice changes that help make a story interesting. For me, this was a weak story which could have been improved by a different reader. But even the story was a bit too repetitive.

Disappointed

Lots of holes in the plot. MCs were very dull. The ghosts were the best part.
