This collection came about while sitting outside, and the poems were inspired by James's brain, which often runs amok. The book contains items from cowboys to clothespins. One poem was inspired by the love of Western movies. It is amazing how once the brain begins to rhyme, themes just seem to come together in poetic form. Memories, past experiences, common objects, and random thoughts have all come together to produce the compilation of poems included in this book.

Always With Me also details other struggles of growing up disabled such as bullying, depression, suicide, medical abuse, sexual abuse, and pain of receiving medical treatment throughout his life. Despite all the trauma he endures in life, he finds his faith in God.

In this story, the narrator, who both hovers above the action and is totally immersed in it, tells of the lengths he and his three co-adventurers go to achieve their goals. One wants an even chance at life and, oh yes, to be a star baseball player; another wants to fly. A third seeks true artistic sensuality, and the fourth wants nothing more than the Freudian essentials of success at love and work. Unfortunately the society they live in has hunkered down, devoting nearly all of its resources to self-protection and very little to everyday human comforts.

When a person is physically abused, it can be easily identified as we see the scars, bruises, the black eye, and signs of broken bones. However, what about when a person is being mentally, emotionally, and/or verbally abused? The signs are not so easy to spot; we do not recognize the symptoms because we do not know what to look for. Mental, emotional, and verbal abuse leave scars on our minds, our hearts, our emotions, our feelings, and our thoughts about ourselves and others.

It was in a Life in the Spirit It was in a Life in the Spirit Seminar that it all came together. Since then I have written as a charismatic catholic. Jesus is the center of my writings and life. In the Holy Spirit we find our calling. In the majesty of God we find out faith, Jesus. The inspired writings have a compelling fashion. One sold out to Jesus, is the theme. Each day is a new surrender. Each page is the Holy Spirit discernment.
