Pianist/composer Irving Fields formed one of the first piano-bass-drum trios in jazz and went on to compose hundreds of songs performed by Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Xavier Cugat, Guy Lombardo, Dinah Shore, Sarah Vaughan amongst many others. His career reached a climax in 1959 when he fused Latin with Klemzer on his Decca album "Bagels And Bongos", one of the first such world music fusions. He'd go on to fuse many world music styles with Latin rhythms.
