  • 14: Denise Nurse: Careers, Confidence and the Courage to Change
    Mar 12 2026

Our first ever guest joins the podcast - and it’s someone very special to us.

Denise Nurse is best known as the face of Escape to the Country and BBC Morning Live, but her journey started in corporate law before she built and sold her own business and stepped into the world of television, coaching and entrepreneurship. In fact, Denise is also the reason Anji and Annie met in the first place - which makes her something of a fairy godmother to this podcast.

In this episode we explore careers, confidence and the idea that life doesn’t follow one fixed path. From stepping off the traditional ladder to building something entirely new, Denise shares how curiosity, courage and asking the right questions can open unexpected doors.

We talk about generational differences in work and money, why younger people sometimes feel the ground shifting beneath them, and what older generations can learn from Gen Z’s openness and questioning spirit.

Along the way we also dive into investing, financial freedom, family choices, and the simple power of conversations across generations.

Because maybe life isn’t one straight road after all.
Maybe it’s just a series of chapters - and you get to write the next one.

  • Gen in 10: Why Gen Z stole the 90s
    Mar 5 2026

Welcome to Gen & 10, the little sister podcast series to ‘Too Young For This, Too Old For That’, where we explore generational topics in just 10 minutes.

In our first Gen & 10 episode, we dive into nostalgia and ask why Gen Z seems to be bringing so many 90s trends back. From iconic films like Pretty Woman, to 90s fashion, music, and cultural moments, including the lasting influence of Princess Diana, we explore why the decade still resonates today.

Are Gen Z reinventing these trends… or simply rediscovering what was already cool?

  • 12 - Mum, Dad… Wait. You’re People?
    Feb 26 2026

At some point — usually far later than we’d like to admit — we realise our parents are actual human beings.

Not just “Mum” and “Dad”, but former teenagers, dreamers, professionals, people with full lives before we arrived.

In this episode, we explore that strange shift: from being raised to slowly raising back. We talk about strict versus laissez-faire parenting, living at home in your twenties, cultural expectations, and what happens when you begin to notice your parents ageing. When do you stop being the child? Do you ever? And how do you navigate love, autonomy and responsibility when the roles start to blur?

Whether you speak to your parents every day, live under the same roof, or are quietly grappling with their mortality — this one might hit home.

  • 11 - FOMO: A Modern Curse or a Meaningful Signal?
    Feb 12 2026

    Send a text

Fear of Missing Out is usually talked about as something to fix, quieten, or grow out of. But what if FOMO is actually trying to tell us something important?

In this first episode of Season Two, we explore FOMO across generations - from the pressure to “be on track” in your twenties to the looking-back and taking-stock that comes later in life. We talk about comparison, ageing, social media, missed opportunities, regret, and the quiet fear of choosing wrong.

Along the way, we ask whether FOMO is really about other people at all - or whether it’s a signal pointing us back towards our own values, desires, and sense of meaning.

A conversation about time, choice, and learning not to punish ourselves - at any age.

  • 10 - Looking Back, Listening Forward: What We Learned From Our First Season Together
    Dec 30 2025

    Send a text

In this final episode of Season One, we pause.

Instead of diving into a new topic, we look back at what it’s been like to create this podcast - as two women from different generations who barely knew each other when we started. We reflect on the moments that surprised us, the conversations that stayed with us, and what we’ve learned about work, mental health, money, confidence and connection along the way.

We talk honestly about what it felt like to open up — not just to each other, but to listeners — and how having these conversations has shifted how we see ourselves, our generations, and what’s possible across age.

It’s a wrap-up, a thank you, and an invitation: to keep listening, to keep talking, and to have one real conversation with someone from a different generation.

    Season Two is coming.

  • 08 - Too Much Stuff, Not Enough Thought? Our Honest Gift Guide
    Dec 11 2025

    Send a text

Christmas is meant to be magical… but somewhere between the Secret Santas, scented candles and panic-buying “tat,” the whole thing has got a bit commercial.
In this episode, Anji and Annie sit down for an honest conversation about gifting - what feels meaningful, what we actually remember and why sometimes the best presents aren’t things at all.

From PictureHouse memberships and National Trust cards to hand cream, cosy books, cameras, theatre trips, homemade drawings and even a surprise roll of kitchen paper… this is a warm, funny, chaotic chat about how two generations think about gifts, clutter, love languages, and what we really want this year.

It’s thoughtful, it’s heartfelt, it’s unfiltered - and it might just change the way you buy presents.
