• 49 | Confessions of a SAHM: I Fight God Like My Kids Fight Me
    Jan 21 2026

Do you ever see your kids’ behavior and suddenly realize, “That’s exactly what I do to God”?

Have you been rejected by your child and wondered if that’s how God still loves us when we push Him away?

Are you carrying guilt because motherhood keeps exposing the parts of you God is still gently shaping?

If so, you’re in the right place.

Hi Beautiful, I’m Cheryl — wife, girl mom, aspiring SAHM, and Jesus follower. I learned the not-so-secret ways to become the mom my girls needed by prioritizing Jesus, finding routines that worked, rejecting mom guilt when I failed, and learning what self‑esteem really is. This podcast is for moms who want Biblical encouragement and real‑life devotions. If you’re ready to build faith while washing dishes, become the mom you hoped you’d be, and love yourself the way your babies do — grab your earbuds and lock the bathroom door for a minute alone. It’s Time for Mom.

In this episode, I’m sharing how Motherhood became a Spiritual classroom so you can start growing with your kids.

    1. Motherhood reveals how often we fight God just like our kids fight us.

    2. Seeing the love of God sprouting in your kids teaches you about grace.

    3. Your child’s “I don’t like you” moments help you understand God’s unconditional love.

    4. There is purpose in the struggle—for your kids and for you.

    5. Your kids’ behavior becomes a living parable of your relationship with God.

  • 48 | What if You Tried, SAHM? When Growth Means Breaking Routine - Mom Life Devotion
    Jan 16 2026
Do your kids ask to do things that you don't want to, like dance in public? Have you given into those cute little faces and surprised yourself by actually doing well? What if God is asking you to step out and try new things? In this episode, I’m sharing a devotion on how much trying to draw (not an artist!) has grown me spiritually so you can see those boundary stretching things in a new way. Trying matters more than perfection — to your kids and to God. Your children delight in your presence, not your skill level — and God delights in your obedience the same way. You can do more than you think because God has already prepared good works for you (Ephesians 2:10). Fear of failure keeps us stuck in old identities, but trying builds confidence and spiritual maturity. When we stop trying, we miss out on discovering the gifts God has placed in us. Next Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 1:00 pm PST – 2:00 pm MST – 3:00 pm CST – 4:00 pm EST (Pick your time zone!), I will be hosting a free Time for Mom Breakthrough Workshop! Do you want to find that woman you used to be before you turned into Mom, but you feel like that woman died in childbirth? Listen, Cherished Momma, no, that is not truth. This workshop is going to help you find her again, one choice at a time. You don’t have to run away, you don’t have to start from scratch, and you don’t need to waste time trying everyone else’s mothering techniques. I’ll help you lean into how God made you, by reconnecting you to your faith and growing from there. It’s Time for Mom. In this episode, I’m sharing 5 questions to ask yourself so you can step into becoming the mom you thought you could be with one small change at a time. What has your year revealed? What went well and you are thankful happened or you did? What didn't go so well, and you'd like to change? What is God nudging you towards? Out of all you wrote down, ask God to bring one thing to the front for you to change and one thing for you to continue. Pick one specific thing to change to get you toward that goal. In this episode, I’m sharing 6 ways to overcome that mommy burnout so you can start thriving in motherhood. Adjust your expectations. Keep trying. Give yourself some grace. Your child is doing this life thing for the first time, and so are you. You are both going to mess up, and when you do, you have to try again. You will need to nap too. Take care of you. You are so important to your family, your husband and your kids. If you neglect yourself, eventually your physical mental and spiritual health will crumble. And when that happens, you won't be able to be a mom, you'll be a basket case. Remember your marriage. Your kids need a father just as much as they need you. You need your spouse and he needs you. Join the private Facebook group and reserve your spot using this link: https://bit.ly/timeformomcommunity Look in the featured posts. On to today's episode! In this episode, I’m sharing about lessons on habitual sins inspired from coughing fits so you can be encouraged to break free from those things that are causing guilt in your SAHM life. Some truths about habitual sin: Habitual sin will rob you of joy, peace, innocence, relationships, health. Habitual sin breaks trust and causes a cascade of problems. Habitual sin keeps you on edge. You're constantly on guard, trying to keep from being caught. Trying not to say the wrong thing or let on that you're doing whatever you're doing. Your character will eventually start to be warped by the very thing you are hiding. Sin gets so comfortable it seems like a snug, warm coat. Wrapped tight on a cold day and it's not until you get back inside that you realize what you thought was a snug, warm coat is a straitjacket that is robbing you of true freedom. Sin is a robber, thief, and vandal. Sin vandalizes the beautiful parts of your spirit causing unerasable damage. You might repair it, but you're never going to be the same. Praise God that He works with imperfect people. Here are five things that helped me in the fight against habitual sin. Find an accountability partner or two or three! As many as you need. Be rid of anything that you currently have that is helping you fall into sin. For some people this means actively avoiding specific places or people. For others this means filling the spaces with people who fill them with life. Read the Bible as often as you can. Listen to it on your phone. Scripture is a powerful tool. Pray. Any time you feel tempted, pray and reach out to those accountability partners so that they can join you in prayer. The power of prayer is compounded when you are joined by fellow believers. Worship. Dec 26 2025
Do you absolutely dread being asked to do new things? Have you had to turn away from your kids when they are trying something new that wouldn't hurt them, it just offended your adult sensibilities? Has God asked you to do something new, but you're paralyzed? (Are you wondering how these things are related?) If so, you’re in the right place. In this episode, I’m sharing the importance of trying, trusting and being obedient to God's direction so you can grow with a few less growing pains than I: How often does God tell me to do something and I'm like, "Um, no."? What would happen if I was actually obedient the first time God asked me to do something? Wouldn't the outcome mean that I learned something about myself or God? Wouldn't I grow in confidence in God? Wouldn't the outcome mean that God is still using me to further his Kingdom and glory even though sometimes it feels like I'm just stuck at home being a mom? God is right there saying, "Please try and see what happens. I'm here. I will catch you. It might not end how you imagine, but you're going to be okay. You're going to grow and you're going to be more confident because you did try. You didn't let life paralyze you." My responsibility is start and trust God. The outcome is up to God, not me and He can turn any mess I make into a masterpiece. Just start, be obedient, and let God do the rest.
