This week, we put our motivation to-the-test in committing to exercise each day in some capacity, big or small. Truth be known? Even a short amount of time and the most basic movement can count.   • Soul Goal #38: Finish The Phrase

    I remember the first time a therapist told me “let’s try to work through some affirmations regarding this piece of work. My response? Ummmmm, not sure that’s really for me. But when I put aside my hesitations and finally dug in to the process, a week in to the work and lo-and-behold, it actually alleviated a piece of anxiety for me. The writing of the personalized phrases I had created alongside my therapy-group girls was cathartic by day 5. It helped me feel a deeper sense of peace for myself and gave me some space in my brain for knowing that I, too, deserved to have relief from the old scripts I continued to play.


    Affirmations can be hard to commit to but are definitely a productive part of building self confidence and uncovering the true YOU. Putting pen to paper in this way can help rewire your mindset, boost self-belief, and shift your daily focus toward growth and positivity, a huge win in the daily battle for inner peace.

    Ever met those folks that seem to have a knack for conversation? Those that aren’t afraid to have a start-up talk with most anyone? This week, I took a page out of my own hubby’s playbook and did the uncomfortable-for-me, striking up conversations with strangers that I felt led to. With my husband guesting on the pod this week, he graciously explains his “why” and the benefits and incredible insights he’s gained from reaching out to others in this simple-yet-sometimes-challenging way. Whether it’s a quick chat with someone in line for coffee or a deeper exchange with a new face at an event, these moments can lead to unexpected perspective shifts, friendships, and even life-changing opportunities. Connection is definitely closer than we many times give it credit for!

    Prayer can be a difficult process for many, especially those who have faced hardships that seem to be never-ending. In today’s episode, I’m joined by Emily, a wonderful friend and Mom who talks about her prayer practice and what it means to her, how she struggles with it at times, and the grace that it has created in her life. From finding peace to building resilience, creating and nurturing a personal relationship with God has meaningful and lasting effects. Prayer helps us all find purpose and power, intangible attributes that we tend to take for granted. And let’s not forget the God winks that are just waiting on us, too!

    I was recently having a one-of-those-days moments when, as if on cue, the next phone alert was an old friend texting to say they’d been thinking of me. That small gesture brought me out of a yucky headspace and gave me a sweet little boost to keep on going.


    Whether it's a simple "thinking of you" or a meme that made you laugh, a quick text message can strengthen connections, lift someone's day, and even improve your own mental well-being. Technology, when used intentionally, can help us feel more connected than ever. It's time to stop overthinking and start texting—because sometimes, all it takes is a little "hey!”
