In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast, Daryl reminds you that it’s probably not too late to make the change you’ve been putting off. He talks openly about aging, cerebral palsy, and how overuse injuries have forced him to adapt his physical and mental approach to life. Through this perspective, Daryl challenges the idea of “reasonable” expectations and encourages you to stop settling for what feels safe or acceptable to others.

He shares how adapting to his current stage of life has sharpened his focus on what truly matters and why waiting too long to chase what you want can lead to regret. This conversation is about taking ownership of your life, pursuing your goals before it’s too late, and realizing that the benchmarks society sets for you don’t define your potential.

    Episode Description

In this episode, I’m sharing my thoughts on World Cerebral Palsy Day and what it truly means to bring awareness to something that shapes your entire life. Awareness days are a starting point, but the real work is in the daily conversations, the stories, and the connection that happens when we talk openly about our lived experiences.

I share what it’s been like to grow up with CP, the range of experiences within the condition, and why no two stories are alike. I talk about how I’ve learned to own my story, from being self-conscious about my walk to showing it daily on video, and how I’ve chosen to stop using humor to hide pain. Living with CP has taught me perspective, resilience, and gratitude for independence, even while dealing with what’s likely chronic pain every day.

If you live with CP, or know someone who does, I hope this episode encourages you to share your story. Every day can be an awareness day, and your voice can help someone else see what’s possible.

    Episode Description

Today I am calling out the trend of “ten years of therapy in sixty seconds” and why it misses the point. Therapy is individual, context heavy, and it works when you have the right therapist, the time to build trust, and you do the homework between sessions. I share the real world barriers like cost, waitlists, insurance, and fit, then why none of that gets solved by another quick motivational clip.

We get into discipline versus motivation and why real discipline is pacing yourself so you can train and live for decades. I talk about recovering from bruised ankles, checking in with your body, and choosing long term consistency over performative grind. We also talk about action and identity, starting with a decision to believe in yourself, then letting your actions reinforce that choice.

Men’s Mental Health Series interviews are coming back soon. I want more honest conversations off the scroll, more nuance, and more connection. From cookies to coaching, I am building things with substance and inviting you to do the same, without guilt around food or anxiety around fitness. If you have thoughts after listening, I want to hear them.

In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast I dive into why I use belief statements instead of affirmations. Affirmations often become routine phrases that feel good in the moment but rarely create lasting change. Belief statements on the other hand go deeper, reshaping the core stories you tell yourself about who you are and what you are capable of.

I explain how starting with simple self statements might feel mechanical at first, but over time they can transform into meaningful reminders that change how you see yourself inside and out. Belief statements aren’t about going through the motions, they are about anchoring yourself in truths that drive long term growth in fitness, in self development, and in life.

In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast I talk about the mental prison so many of us feel trapped in, that tug of war of never feeling like we are doing enough. I share why it does not have to be this way and how you can begin to shift that mindset. Anything you do today is enough. The outside opinions and expectations will always be there, but the real work is connecting with yourself.

We explore how to untangle the thought patterns that keep you stuck, why grace and forgiveness are essential, and how therapy can play a major role in building a productive relationship with yourself. This is about seeing that there are things in your control, things outside of your control, and even areas where by managing one you can indirectly impact the other. It is about building confidence by owning what you can influence.

My daily content is not behind a gate. It is here to remind you that you are enough and that you can work through these patterns. I have been there. I still feel the pull at times. But most of the time I move forward from a calm headspace, focused on deliberate progress, and I believe you can too.

In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast I ask a simple but powerful question. What distracts you? We live in a world of endless noise, constant notifications, and countless things pulling for our attention. The real work is noticing what pulls you away and then deciding where you actually want to put your focus.

I want you to email me your go to distraction and also where you would like to redirect that time and energy. Maybe it is health, maybe it is work, maybe it is just being more present. This is about awareness and about choosing where your attention goes. With everything I put out, whether it is a podcast, blog, email, or post, I want you to spend no more than ten minutes a day on my content. Then put the phone down and live your life in the way that feels most fulfilling and most aligned for you.

In this episode I share how I cleaned up my social media so you can easily find the day to day. The main handle is @daytodaydaryl on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. You can also head to daytodaydaryl.com which forwards to darylperry.com, then scroll for all my links and my email. I still post on my Daryl Perry profiles at times, though most of those are reshares from the day to day feed. For YLF updates follow @yourlevelfitness, with lighter posting on Facebook.

I talk about why I am posting almost daily and why I will run ads. I have a lot to say and I want these messages in front of people. My core themes center on self connection, common ground, and doing the inner work. I also share plans to spin the Men’s Mental Health Series back up in twenty twenty six, with an emphasis on therapy, real conversations, and building productive relationships with the professionals who fit you.

Systems make the content possible. I explain how a clear process keeps the message consistent. AI is a helpful tool, not the answer. People still want real connection. I would rather you spend ten minutes a day with my content, then put the phone down and live your life. Podcasts and action focused emails are the best way to go deeper. Social is where I take the pulse and ask questions, not a place to fight in comments. If you have thoughts, I want to hear from you by email.
