  • 28% Lower Recurrence: What Every Bowel Cancer Patient Should Know ft Molly from Strength Squad
    Mar 4 2026
You can prevent 15 - 20% of bowel cancers through exercise. Even just walking works to reduce that risk. But not only that - chemo and cancer related fatigue can be alleviated through exercise too. I felt all of these benefits when I was going through chemotherapy for Stage 2 Bowel Cancer last year. Yes, some days it was hard - I won’t deny it. I remember doing a few body squats and needing to rest for a couple minutes each time but you know what? Moving my body in any capacity helped. So today I wanted to talk to the incredible Molly from Strength Squad - which is dedicated to helping people who have been diagnosed with bowel cancers (from diagnosis to post chemo) start moving their bodies and fight the cancer. Not only is Molly trained in providing oncology support for cancer patients but you’ll be moving alongside a group of people going through the exact same situation as you. The in person sessions are in South Yarra but Molly is opening up online groups mid March. You can check it out here. Stick around to find out: The landmark study that showed a 28% reduction in recurrence and a 37% reduction in risk of death How up to 20% of bowel cancers could be prevented through movement How exercise activates cancer-fighting cells and supports chemotherapy What’s really happening inside your body when you strength train during treatment Why losing muscle during chemo can quietly make everyday life harder Why “just rest” isn’t always the answer to chemo fatigue How to move your body when you’re nauseated, exhausted and scared The exact amount of exercise that actually changes outcomes (it’s less than you think) … and SO much more Want more of Molly and Strength Squad? • Running Coach: How to Start Running, Get Better and Actually Enjoy It with Tim Bliss
    Feb 25 2026
So many people tell me they want to start running. And then a few weeks later they’re injured, exhausted, or convinced they’re “just not a runner.” I’ve been there. I still remember heading out for my first 5K thinking I was going to absolutely nail it… and barely making it a few hundred metres before questioning all of my life choices. Running can feel amazing. It’s been one of the best things I’ve ever done for my mental health. But it can also feel hard, frustrating, and confusing… especially when the internet makes it look effortless. So today I’ve brought on someone who actually knows what he’s talking about. I’m chatting with Tim Bliss, a running coach, triathlete, and the mind behind my 16 week marathon plan. We’re chatting about everything from progress, recovery and what to prioritise when you have limited time. Key moments: 1:26 -   The smartest way to start running (and why most people make it harder than it needs to be) 3:134 - The biggest mistakes in the first 4–6 weeks that lead to burnout or injury 8:16 - Why runners plateau even when they’re “training hard” plus a simple test to know if you’re actually improving 10:15 - The first thing to adjust if you want to get faster (without just running more) 13:10 -  What separates runners who improve year after year from those who stay stuck 14:27 - Is running twice a week enough to see progress? Here’s how to structure it properly 16:23 - What recovery actually looks like when you have a full-time job (and limited time) 17:18 - The most common running injuries and how strength training can help prevent them 18:46 - Is soreness a good sign… or a red flag? 21:42 - Inside my 16-week marathon plan: what Tim prioritised first 23:20 - Can someone go from beginner to marathon in 16 weeks? 24:03 - How to approach back-to-back marathons without wrecking your body 26:17 - The simplest way to set your next running goal so it feels achievable If you loved this episode and you want more guidance with your own running, you can find Tim over on Instagram at @performancebliss1 If you need a push to take control of your health - download my app FIT by Danni Duncan or sign up for coaching. • Is This the One of the Reasons Cancer Rates Are Exploding? A Conversation with Wine Maker + Stage 3 Cancer Survivor, Nick Dugmore
    Jan 28 2026
Bowel cancer in people aged 25-45 is up 260%, and the more I learn… the more I know we cannot keep pretending this is normal. Today I’m sitting down with Nick “Dougie” Dugmore, winemarker, dad and bowel cancer survivor, whose story has hit 1.3M views for a reason. Since he started talking openly about his diagnosis - nearly 100 polyps have been found (and removed) in people who went to get checked because of him. This episode isn’t fear mongering, but what I wish someone had told me sooner. You’ll hear: ~ The symptoms Nick ignored and why so many young people dismiss them ~ How fear, stress + our emotional state can impact cancer recovery ~ Why Nick believes glyphosate is one of the biggest (and silent) problems affecting our generation ~ What’s actually happening in our food supply from a farmer ~ Alcohol, wine culture and whether a glass of red makes a difference to your health ~ How both of us have reframed our diagnoses and rebuilt our lives post cancer … and SO much more If you’ve been putting off getting checked… This is your sign. Support Nick on IG @stokewines_au and support his vineyard at www.stokewines.au (buy direct, it helps massively). Jan 21 2026
Women are doing more than ever, and our health is paying the price for it. I didn’t think I was going to get cancer - most people don’t. Neither did Clinical Nutritionist Gina Urlich but she was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer in January 2024. That’s why I wanted to get Gina on the poddy. To not only talk about her experience with cancer and stress but also to talk about psychoneuroimmunology: the connection between our brain, our immune system and our nervous system. Stick around to find out: ~ What living through cancer and chronic stress taught us about the real mind–body connection ~ How your thoughts can literally switch your immune system on or off ~ The hidden inflammatory chain reaction happening to overwhelmed women ~ The “healthy” habits that are actually making everything worse ~ How mindset shaped Gina’s cancer treatment response in ways she didn’t expect ~ Is it ever too late to reverse the damage? ~ What your internal dialogue is doing to your immunity every single day ~ The biggest predictor of long-term health (it’s not what you think) ~ What to do when you feel exhausted, inflamed, anxious, and like your body is fighting you … and SO much more If you want more of Gina, you can book 1:1s with her at www.ginaurlich.co.nz or visit her on IG @gina.urlich If you need a push to take control of your health - download my app FIT by Danni Duncan or sign up for coaching.
