Send me a text…what do struggle with most in estrangement

Letting go of grudges is rarely easy and certainly nothing happens quickly for most people. Estranged relationships create a hotbed for growing grudges, and you nourish them when you replay and rehearse responses.

Coaching women who have been hurt by a loved one who has chosen to walk away will frequently begin with something like “how could they?” Or I’ll never be able to forgive them for what they’ve done.”

And those words are the foundation for building resentment and deep-seated grudges that bring harm to your soul. Furthermore, you’ll never heal when you are holding a grudge.

Today’s episode will provide some tips for letting go of the resentment so that your heart can begin to heal Let’s settle in for a short message today on getting rid of grudges.

  • 63: The Bridge that Connects
    Apr 8 2026

Send me a text…what do struggle with most in estrangement

There is a bridge that connects an unsaved heart and that’s the subject of today’s podcast episode. Women have asked me how to handle their unsaved kids especially when estranged.

That’s a worthy question and one that resonates with every Christian mom around the world. I've sometimes overstepped, but always with good intentions. However, your kids will not see it that way. They see it as intrusion into their adult life.

A Mom shared with me that she wrote a lengthy letter to her unsaved kids in hopes that they might be more open once she was gone. Certainly, we desire that our kids find a relationship with Christ but pushing or threatening will only drive them further away.

Listen in today as I share some of the mistakes I made along with some practical tips that can keep you engaged in the spiritual life of your kids.

  • 62: The Sting of Rejection
    Apr 1 2026

Send me a text…what do struggle with most in estrangement

The sting of rejection has been on my mind this week. For Christians, it’s Holy Week and I’ve been thinking about conversations I’ve had with women about estrangement.

Moreover, the rejection these women discuss is typically a child who has walked away. Rarely do I speak with anyone where the parent has chosen rejection.

Siblings, In-Laws, and other estrangement also sting, but the emotional pain of your child choosing to end a relationship with you is deeply personal and hurtful.

Holy week creates an opportunity for you to draw closer to the heart of Jesus. Mocking, false accusations, rejection, loneliness and ultimately a sacrificial death. The good news is Sunday is coming and we know He lives.

Today’s episode relates the sting of an estranged relationship you face with the love and understanding of your heavenly father. Let’s dive in.

  • 61: Daughters-In-Law - Made for Connection
    Mar 26 2026

Send me a text…what do struggle with most in estrangement

As children of God, we are made for connection. Connecting with another in meaningful relationship is one of the greatest joys of life. Family, friends, and co-workers. Neighbors, Church fellowship, and children’s sporting events are all places we find connection.

Conversely, rejection is one of the most painful emotional upheavals that one will ever experience. Abandonment of a relationship runs deep within the soul - cutting through every fiber of your being.

If meaningful connection is a beautiful flourishing garden, rejection is an unsightly heap of twigs and branches tied into bundles to be tossed away. You mourn the loss of that once beautiful shrub that bore fruit. The removal of that relationship even briefly damages your soul.

Today’s episode is a bit longer and will delve into the relationship of our adult kids who marry, have children, and later reject you as a parent. Specifically, this will deal with daughters-in-law who influence your son and his family. I have some personal experience on this one so grab a coffee or tea and sit with me for a bit.
