Acerca de esta escucha
Daniel is a freelancer without health insurance or a committed relationship when he suddenly finds himself as the sole caregiver for his dangerously premature daughter. As he grapples with whether he will run from responsibility or grow into fatherhood, he befriends an outspoken neonatal intensive care unit nurse struggling to balance the demands of her job and her own family. Penned by playwright Mike Lew and directed by Moritz Von Stuelpnagel, tiny father explores the humorous truth about parenting and the fear that comes from an emotionally exhausting health scare.
Playwright Mike Lew was awarded a commission through the Audible Emerging Playwrights Fund, an initiative dedicated to developing innovative original plays driven by language and voice. As an Audible commissioned playwright, he received funding and creative support to develop tiny father.

Sidney is a dreamer who wants his own Walden Pond; Iris is a budding actress whose own backstory is a performance. A beautiful unexpected journey of a first time father to a premie, and their NICU nurse. The voice actors acting out the situations did a great job emoting and the accompanying sound effects were on point. A very touching experience.

New journey of a father of a tiny baby
The beginning was sad with the tiny baby being born early and then mom passing away from health complications very sadly. However, it is nice to see Daniel not just take up the responsibility of Sofia but also become a loving and affectionate father gradually if not from the very beginning.
Caroline plays an important role in Sofia's early stages at the hospital and seemed like a good support system for Daniel to embrace parenting. It is very touching and I can only imagine the journey of parents of babies in NICU. A well written story though it is also a reality as well.

NICU Mom here - so relatable!
this had me reminiscing about my son's days in NICU and the cracking up at how true so many of the dad's fears and observations were. NICU was a rough time but a good sense of humor about the crazy ups and downs definitely got me through it, just like this Dad in the story

Made my experience happier
I am Grandmommy of a 25 week premature little guy. At 1 pound 7 oz his chances were not great but he was flown to the best hospital in the area with the best NICU we could have hoped for. My son is different from me in that he gets very tough when faced with a hard issue especially when he has no control over the outcome. I am extremely positive in these situations and that drives him nuts. He listened to Momma when I was finally able to see my new grandson after he was a bit more stabilized. Anthony went to introduce his son to his Grandmommy and through the tears we held onto each other and I couldn’t allow the moment to get something uncomfortable in case little Cage left us, so I thought it was time for laughter and said to my son, Oh Lord Anthony he looks just like you, better get a better job if he eats like a linebacker like you did from birth . He told me later that when I said that he knew everything would be fine. The Daddy in this story was so lovely innocent and almost embarrassingly naive. I loved the honesty of his entire experience from being a part of a agreement with the mother that we were just having fun and we are not going to do anything traditional and end up ruining our lives especially with our child at stake. What a man to step in and eventually see his daughter instead of a “messed up child “ I loved the entire book. Such a great story in times when we often feel that Dads don’t have a real role in the child’s life in the beginning of life.
