Great book

this is a great book. I'm not sure why audible now requires you to leave a text portion in a review. some of us just want to leave a number of stars.

Finally out of my book rut. Loved this so much!

I laughed out loud, held my breath, teared up, smiled… I was on a roller coaster and I LOVED EVERY MINUTE of it!! Another great book by Abby. She has become one of my favorite authors 👏🏼♥️

Dr. Brianna Ortiz is not having a good year: her divorce is about to be finalized, her brother's life is in danger if they can't find him a kidney donor and her promotion to Chief of the ER might not happen because of the recently hired doctor (who the nurses desperately want to nickname 'Dr.Death'). Dr. Jacob Maddox might be a pretty little thing but he's rude as hell and she can't stand him.
Everything changes when he send her a letter. Not any letter, a wonderful letter and he might just actually be the amazing person her friends are raving about. She writes him back and soon they are sharing lunch and having great conversations in the hospital's supply closet. And when Jacob decided to give her the greatest gift of all - her brother's life - she just might have to return the favor when he needs her. A favor that might complicate everything...
I had to sit on this one for a couple of days before being able to write anything because, for the first time ever, I deeply identified with both main characters in a book: the anxiety-ridden man and the sister who can't donate her kidney to her brother and save his life.
It's not a tearjerker book - though I cried my eyes out. It has pretty funny moments and you will laugh too. It has the Abby Jimenez "I'll hit you in the feels" touch all over it and it even has a tiny bit of Wakan magic (IYKYK), but you know what makes this amazing book phenomenal?
NARRATION. Zachary Webber brings his A-game as the adorable, uber-anxious, caring, loving Dr. Maddox. A stellar performance through and through. Kyla Garcia is absolute perfection as the sassy but broken Brianna. Flawless Spanish too in a performance that had me searching for her catalog. NOW, WHY THE HECK AREN'T THEIR NAMES ON THE COVER OF THE AUDIOBOOK?? SERIOUSLY?!

I love Abby Jimenez's books and try to snag them on pre-order. The story plus the fantastic narration made this one an easy 5 star book for me that I listened to every 2-5 minutes I had the first couple days after it came out.

Okay. Okay. I am a fan of Abby.

This book did it for me. I loved Bri from Part of Your World. Her friendship in that book made me want to read her HEA.

I am so glad I gave Abby another chance because I would have missed out on Dr. Death if I hadn't. Okay. Okay. His name is not Dr. Death. 😉

Jacob and Bri do not see eye to eye until they air out some grievances, and then all bets are off. They become friends, and chemistry is something.
I loved that Bri got Jacob. She accepts him and helps him in a way that isn't put out; it's just natural.

The whole storyline with the brother was a bonus—not because of his illness but because we see that some people are just selfless and will do things because they want to, not because they have to or feel like they are owed something in return.

I loved the narration. Kyla was perfect, and yes, even Zachary.
