A must have

The book was short straight to the point without all the non-needed fluff. I was impressed at how informative and well written it is with clear pros and cons of every country, taxation and what to expect. The book explained the requirements needed to get the paperwork needed before traveling which will save a lot of headaches and money further down along the process. The bureaucracy, the security, the healthcare, the weather, the different ways to get your citizenships in all 9 countries. Etc.. This opened my eyes to possible retirement in Europe specially when im already fluent in three of those languages. Will definitely recommend!!!

This is pretty exciting!

I honestly never considered retiring in Europe before listening to this book. It sounded like something you’d have to be incredibly wealthy to pull off. I’m super excited that this book proved me wrong.

Retiring in Europe now sounds way less daunting thanks to this amazing book. It covers everything, including both the pros and the cons of living in particular countries. I feel like an exciting new possibility just got unlocked!

Bad narration

Narrator has a nice voice but her speaking style is very slow and robotic making the text difficult to get through. Good information, covers the basics.

Inspiring and informative overview

Well organized, various logistical/legal/tax considerations presented, enthusiastic and encouraging content woven throughout. Wish there were a few other countries/regions offered (e.g. Nordics, UK, Eastern Europe) but overall great information.

An audiobook book full of inspiration.

The concept of retiring in Europe seems like an unreachable ideal, but the author reminds us that it is achievable, which is why I adored this audiobook. I appreciated that it offered helpful advice on realising your dreams as well as a wealth of knowledge, including the benefits and drawbacks of various nations' tax systems. It's quite impressive that the author was able to write a book that was so concise and to the point. Every person who is concerned about retirement life should listen to this book. Recommended!

If the idea of retiring in Europe has ever crossed your mind, whether it is a concrete plan or feels like an unattainable dream, this is the book you have been looking for!

I have yet to retire, but I was an expat in Brazil for over 10 years, and listening to this book made me wish that the author had written a book about retiring in Brazil, because while this book is geared toward retirees, much of the information would be relevant to someone moving to Europe for any reason, at any stage of life. The chapters on each country include information about climate, healthcare, city versus rural life, transportation, cultural observations, cuisine, cost of living, history, and so much more.

Lily St. Francis does an especially excellent job of highlighting the charm and delightful characteristics of each country and culture, which is extremely helpful in narrowing down the choices of European countries. As you listen to the descriptions, you will find yourself drawn to and intrigued by certain countries more than others, based on how your personality and taste connects with the culture and what is available in each country.

Or, this book might make you decide to plan a survey tour before making up your mind which European country to retire in, because they all do sound delightful! The author of this book really knows her stuff. I have always imagined living in a country where my dollar stretches much farther than here. I just had no idea where to start or how all it all worked as far as visas and legalities.
Another concerning thought was healthcare, i pay for insurance here so how would that work. I found answers to my questions and so much more. My confidence in the author grew as i learned she was a travel agent and has visited these places her self and gained experience through helping her clients retire abroad, setting them up perfectly.
Thanks for setting my mind a ease as i began planning out my dream retirement!

Great info

I have been to many countries in Europe, and soon I will spend 3 months in Europe. After listening to this book, now I want to check out some other countries that the author mentioned and that I haven't been to yet, such as Montenegro and Croatia. This book gave great info for 9 countries in Europe and yes, you can retire in Europe on your retirement budget.
