Slow start, good finish

It was a little sluggish to begin with, but picked up and ended strong

In this great performance he continues to show why he is one of the top narrators. Michael Meyerhofer has woven an intricate story that keeps your interest and attention. I will be listening to the next in the series:-)

I really enjoyed it. It did not come up as recommended by audible, I just happened accross the title. I already started the next one in the series

Great Start to a new Epic Fantasy Trilogy

I enjoyed the story told here. There are neat ties between the people that we see in the end. This is a fantasy series I wouldn't mind following along to the end. There is going to be more battles to be fought as people fight for what they feel is right because of treatment. But, it seems that in the end the views of the people that are feared are being changed because of their actions to help, in one city at least

Joe Abercrombie, Brandon Sanderson, Robin Hobb and now Michael Meyerhofer! Great book, great narrator and definitely worth the time. Can't wait for the next book.

Gripping and well read

A gripping story and characters that you fall in love with. All beautifully narrated by Craig Beck who does a great job of brining this adventure to life.

This book has a lot of everything. What I really like is that they had to learn as they go about the magic. I look forward to following the rest of this series. I had kinda gotten out of the old world type stories but this story brought out everything I loved about reading this type of book.
