Resumen del Editor

Finn MacNamara has one goal: to buy back the family estate his father lost when Finn was a child. So when his ex-lover comes back into his life only to turn around and tell Finn that he's planning to flip the estate for a profit, Finn is furious. It's time to get dirty.

Houston Collier's luck has run out. He's always landed on his feet, but a recent business crash has left him with almost nothing. Nothing but the hope for a more successful future - with Finn, the man he left behind all those years ago. Seducing Finn back into his bed and into his life isn't going to be easy with all the hurt that lies between them - but Houston is up for the challenge.

Welcome to Worthington, Texas, where the heat doesn't just rise in the summer - you'll feel it all year long in these stories of older men and their younger lovers. Every audio book in the Worth It series can be listened to on its own, but with so many familiar characters to love, why stop with just one? This audio book features stories of a lost treasure, a fierce competition between two lovers, and the redemption to be found in second chances.

Great addition to the series!

This is another great listen in the Worth It series. The characters are well-drawn and relatable. It was easy to understand both MCs' position. My only complaint would be that the resolution happened too quickly, and wasn't well explained as to the legal aspects and ramifications of the find and how it played into the ownership question. It seems quite a bit of dealmaking happened off-page near the end which made it harder to follow. Still, I loved the characters and I am looking forward to the next book.

The narration was very good, but it would have been nice to have each chapter prefaced with the name of the character speaking. The character voices were occasionally rather similar, and It took a little time to know which character was leading off. Very clear voice and good speed of delivery.

I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request. This is my honest, voluntary review.

Great Narrator, Good Story

I liked this story and how the situation with the estate got settled. Finn and Houston were believable characters.

I'm not a fan of even mild BDSM or pain play nor did I like the names of "Daddy" and "Boy." However, the story was strong enough to overlook those and enjoy the story.

Great Second Chance Romance

This is a great second chance romance story. Houston and Finn are great characters and I really enjoyed watching them get their second chance at love. Story is low-angst with drama, suspense, and romance. the narrator did an overall great job with this one. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

My favorite (so far) of the WORTH IT series...

...and, yeah, I know I titled my review of Book 2 "My favorite of the series so far", but at that point I'd only read Book 6 (which I was disappointed with). The narration of both of those, I thought, was average at best.

PERFORMANCE: 4 stars
I'll start with the Performance because it was the best from Nikola Muckajev I've heard yet. (Listened at speed 1.4) He totally redeemed himself with this one! I'm thinking he must have personally gotten into the characters more this time around than in Book 2 and Book 6 because he was so good. I think he must have liked reading WORTH WANTING more than the others. And... And!—unlike previously, he really did the pillow-talk/sounds so well! Not robotically. Especially in the Epilogue, where there was a lot of it and he made it come alive. This observation, I should add, is coming from a reviewer who previously said his "performance" of bedroom scenes sounded like a First Edition Sexbot. Hope he keeps up the great work like he does with this book. Very convincing!

(BTW when I got this book I'd been expecting – because of the Book 2 Epilogue – that Houston would have a southern accent, which I'd been wanting to hear Nikola Muckajev do over the course of this book. When, in this book, Houston did NOT have the southern accent I was disappointed. But then it turned out to be good anyhow, even though there wasn't much – if any – distinction between the voice used for Finn and the voice used for Houston. Maybe I should take a ½ star off my Performance rating on account of that, but I really do want to emphasis that Nikola Muckajev did much better this time).

STORY: 3½ stars
The first chapter was a bit confusing. It seemed like Finn was seeing Houston, but only the tags "he" and "his" was used in referring to the guy he saw... and then it seemed like it was the married guy David (who, I thought, was unnecessarily vilified because of his life choices) who turns out to be a secondary character at best.

I thought Finn came off more judgmental than, I think, he would've been if he was a real person. I actually liked Houston more than Finn, although probably most people will think the opposite.

I like the twist at the end... but maybe everything worked out a little too perfectly? I don't know. Anyhow, I liked it and was happy Finn and Houston got their HEA.

More of Jace would have been nice.

OVERALL: 3½ stars
Like I said above... this one (IMO) is the best in the series (of the three books I've read so far). WORTH WANTING can certainly be read and enjoyed as a standalone. Granted, the Epilogue sets up the next book in the series, but it has no major connection to this book. In fact, one of the strongest weaknesses of this book is that WORTH WANTING did not bring in Jace enough so that, by the time of the Epilogue, I could really feel for Jace and shed tears for him. Peter Styles should have (IMO) given Jace more of a role in the overall story. As it was, by the revelation in the Epilogue, I was sort of like "Looks like Finn's friend will be the star of the next book"... but I should have had a vested interest in Jace from this story—really feeling the shock that is revealed in the Epilogue. I wish I could have gotten to see Jace as more than just Finn's friend and co-worker—really gotten to know him, as Finn and Houston's story played out. Plus, giving us more of Jace (and/or his parents) in this book would have laid a solid backstory for the next book.

Finally, since I am mentioning this book's Epilogue... I have to tell you there's some real HEAT there! I liked it! And so will you (if you like your romances steamy)!

Houston we have a problem or three

I found Houston mercenary and shady at times. He acted like he was helping Finn, but he was self serving and cared more for his own finances than Finn's heartbreak!!! He did a surprise 180 after Finn refused contact with hom and he made a discovery at the house. He was all in with the buyer until then. so I question his true intentions. It seemed more about money than feelings. Not a fan of Houston. It seems money was the deciding factor in whether they had a future??? WTH!! I enjoyed the narrator.

Loved it

This is the third book in the Worth It series with developed characters (second chances romance). This is Finn’s and Houston’s love story. A few years back Huston didn’t realize how bad his disappearing act hurt Finn. When Huston purchases Finn family estate to flip, we start the journey of family memories, local history, and treasure. I love this series so far. The narration was very well done.

Such a sweet story!

I liked this installment of this series as I've liked the ones before. I can't wait to listen to the rest of the series. I enjoy having characters overlap from one book to another without necessarily needing to read/ listen in order. This is a very sweet, low-angst story with lovable characters. The narrator has an easy to listen to voice although there were a couple of times I lost which character was speaking. Overall, though, I would recommend this book!

Story has potential and narrator is very good.

I've got this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. I really like the stories of Peter he's very good but at the end I feel he rushes plot and it left me a bit disappointed by the end, with a hunger for more or a better developed ending. For this book in particular, it is part of a series, the "Worth It Series" and this is the third book. I haven't read /heard since the first book I thought the stories could be read as stand alones and mostly they are but with this one you get a little bit of a cliff hanger. In this book, got Finn and Houston. Finn is angry that his family home has been sold, after he has been saving to try and get it back. Houston comes back into Worthington and buys the old MacNamara estate with the intentions of renovating it and sell it to an investor. Houston and Finn had a brief fling three years ago and Houston left without a word broking Finn's heart. Houston is older and the uncle of Ethan, a friend of Finn's. When Finn see Houston back in town at a wedding, he runs away from him and when he learns Houston bought the house, he declares war and decides to do everything in his power to make it a hard time for Houston but one thing let to another and they rekindle the ole flame 🔥 of love understanding that they were made for each other. The narrator is great and I love his rich voice.

Not bad...

...but not great, either. Part of it might be the fact that, even as I have nothing against May/December romances I truly ain't into Daddy kink, and this story had it in spades.

But I also didn't feel the connection between the characters beyond the sex. The way the conflict resolved was... utterly 'Deus ex Machina', and... I don't know, I just didn't feel invested in the characters nor their romance.

But if you're looking for some hot sex scenes, with some Daddy thrown on them, then you'll find it here.

Nikola Muckajev does a good job with the narration.
