Resumen del Editor

When your world is small, you get to know it by the way it sounds. Every nuance - the ticking of a clock, the draw of the bow over the cello strings, the lub dub of his heart under your ear.

Noah’s always been a little strange, a little awkward. That was okay. He was comfortable the way he was, and he didn’t need to prove himself to anyone. And then the attack happened, and his world shrank to the walls of his apartment. All he has left is his music...and the thrill of gazing out the window to peer into the life of the man next door.

The world is a riot of colors. Reds, yellows, blues, greens. The color of a man’s solitude and the way the vibrations of music dance on the canvas.

Parker’s desperate to prove himself. Born deaf in a hearing world, his entire life has been a struggle to be seen, to be heard. Maybe that’s why he turned to painting - expressing himself through color and texture on canvas. And maybe that’s why he’s so curious about the sad, lonely man next door...the one who stirs his blood and leaves him hungry for more.

Welcome to Worthington, Texas, where the heat doesn't just rise in the summer - you'll feel it all year long in these stories of older men and their younger lovers. Every audio book in the Worth It series can be listened to on its own, but with so many familiar characters to love, why stop with just one? Great Story

I love the stories set in Worthington, Texas. The interactions of the older and younger men are lovely. Noah and Parker are both suffering from self esteem issues. Noah is a talented musician and composer. Noah was always quiet and a little bit different. That was okay, because he was comfortable with himself. A violent attack took his comfort zone away. Noah’s world has been reduced to the inside of his apartment. His music has all but left him and he has almost no contact with the outside world. Parker lives in an almost silent world, although he signs and reads lips well. Art is everything to Parker. His brother lives him, but doesn’t always understand him. Sawyer supports his art, but often gets frustrated by his choice of career. Parker begins to help Noah out of his isolated world. As he helps Noah, he helps himself. Noah inspires Parker to branch out and enhance his artistic style. Noah and Parker embark on a journey that is not always smooth. Join Noah and Parker on their journey. Cheer them on and enjoy your time in Worthington. Thank you Peter for another wonderful story. Thanks also to Nikola Muckajev for more wonderful narration.

Emotional and lovely

A wonderful story about two men who connect through their struggle to bring creativity back to their lives.

Both have overprotective brothers, and each of them has their own problems: Parker is deaf, and Noah suffers from agoraphobia, after a vicious attack.

Somehow, they click and become each other's inspiration... and something more. But Noah's agoraphobia, his high levels of anxiety, and his refusal to take medications become an issue, as he sees himself as a trap for Parker.

The way the relationship evolves is realistic, with ups and downs but it's also beautiful. The characters are interesting and enticing, and the story very attractive, A fantastic read

Nikola Muckajev does a great job with the narration.

moving and heartwarming

Parker's past track record with the broken and damaged men he's dated has not been good, but he continues to fight the good fight for Noah's heart. Noah has been stuck inside his house for 8 years , and Parker is just the catalyst to break him free and help him soar again. i loved that both talented artists became each others muses. Such inspiration! I enjoyed the narrator voice and expressions.

Sweet

Noah is a composer, imprisoned in his house by his mental illness, struggling with his lack of inspiration and his crippling fear of the outside world after being attacked. Parker is a painter, also struggling with inspiration and anxious about his very first public showing. Both men find the cure to their artistic blocks when they fall in love with each other. Starting with shy glances through their windows, little by little, they develop a relationship that turns into love. The story deals with a heavy theme: mental illness and the struggles faced by Noah. Even so, the book is never dark or too angsty, the relationship is very sweet. Both men are practically made for each other and treat each other with respect and hard earned patience, since they both have disabilities, Noah has agoraphobia and Parker is deaf. Although Parker never struggles in the hearing world, since he has extraordinary lip reading abilities, he never really has any difficulties communicating with anybody and only ever signs with his twin brother, Sawyer, and later on, with Noah. I found this a little too pat, lip reading is not an easy skill to have and it can be confusing because a lot of different words look the same to the lip reader. However, Noah and Parker have a happy ending, and there's a couple of really hot scenes to be enjoyed. The narrator has a very nice voice, he read in a good, natural pace, and read the love scenes with emotion. It is a sweet, light, read.

Loved it, romantic, and sweet

This is the sixth book in the Worth It series with developed characters. Noah is a classical musician who suffers from agoraphobia and Noah is a deaf artist. Their difference and coping mechanisms help each man understand the other and brings them closer together. Their journey to love and happiness is sweet, uplifting, and inspiring. The narration was very well done. I love this series.

A STORY I CAN RELATE TO

Parker is deaf from a childhood illness. He speaks and signs, but he has to either read sign language or lips. He’s a budding artist and once he gets a look at his older neighbor Noah through a window, he is smitten. Parker tries his best to help Noah not be agoraphobic. They are both artists in their own way; Noah as a musician. They fall for each other, but Noah pushes anyone and anything that needs him to leave his house. He finds out what love is truly like and is willing to change some things in his life to keep Parker.

The narrator does another perfect job in getting the characters and their points of view across.
