Resumen del Editor

“Being with him is the very definition of getting stuck between a rock and a hard place.”

All Tristan’s ever wanted was to make a difference - and becoming a lawyer was the tool to make that happen. It’s easy for people to judge others without thinking, but Tristan’s seen too many innocents chewed up and spat out by the system to not fight for those who’ve been wronged. But this case? It’s not just affecting him professionally. His ethics say that he should stay far away from the victim’s family...but his heart says he should bring Upton close and never let him go.

“I can’t believe I trusted him.”

Upton is absolutely incensed that anyone would consider letting his cousin’s murderer out of jail. But he doesn’t have time to dwell on it - he’s got a book to write if he wants to keep food on the table for him and his son. And when his son makes a new friend who has an incredibly attractive father, Upton feels himself falling for the first time since his husband left him four years ago. There’s only one problem - Tristan is a lawyer. For the defense.

Welcome to Worthington, Texas, where the heat doesn't just rise in the summer - you'll feel it all year long in these stories of older men and their younger lovers. Every audiobook in the Worth It series can be listened to on its own, but with so many familiar characters to love, why stop with just one? This audiobook features hot single dads, an out for you romance, and two little boys who are determined to be brothers.

TROUBLE of the best kind!

This story hooked me from the very beginning. When Upton and Tristan met there were sparks. Both had a son and the two boys became close friends. And, so did Tristan and Upton.

Upton was dealing with the fact that the person in prison for killing his cousin was appealing to be released. Tristan was the guy's lawyer and decides to keep that information to himself.

Since this book has an HEA I don't want to give any spoilers. Get this book, listen to it and you will enjoy it!

Great storyline

I enjoyed how both characters made effort to understand each other, and grow to fall in love in the process. I really enjoyed the book. And also enjoyed the performance.

Worth the Trouble of love and family.

This is a two part review. First will reflect the story itself. Second will be regarding the narration of the story told.

Worth the Trouble, a story about two dads who may have never interacted with one another except for the fact they were both single dads. Upton, a stay at home, single dad who is a writer by profession His son Carter, a vibrant young boy, who loved his dad, who also enjoyed hanging out with his only best friend, Barney.

Tristan, a defense attorney, was also a single father to Barney, whose only friend, his best friend was Carter, whose dad was Tristan. Unlike Upton, Tristian was busy with an upcoming case; one in which involved an innocent man's wrongful conviction, and therefore would run late picking up Barney from school.

Since Carter and Barney had befriended one another; their friendship led to Upton and Tristan spending time with each other. Both men shared how they ended up single dads and the trials and tribulations of being a single dad. Upton took pity on Tristan and would have Barney over each day after school. When Upton learned Tristan was a defense attorney there was a temporary shift in this relationship for Upton had a distaste for attorneys, especially after his cousin's murderer was getting a second chance via an appeal. The friendship still manages to grow into more but Tristan knows this may only be short lived if Upton learns the truth.
After a physical relationship and bond begins Upton learns who Tristan is defending and this ends the relationship that was blossoming into love.
When the appeal trial arrives both men learn whether they had what it took to overcome the truth. This was a good story, but I found it fell short at times and didn't necessarily for the narrative. Nonetheless, it was a story I became engrossed in and enjoyed. It contains hot sexy visuals that leaves one's mouth watering and yearning to only be part of. It ends with four happy guys!

Audiobook ; this was my first audio book, and I found it was a positive attribute but I actually had to get the book and read the story after listening to the audio book in order to capture the complete picture. The narrator was good but I envisioned certain areas to be spoken different from how the narrator interpreted the section of the story. Again, the narrator has a voice worth of audio books but interpretation was slightly off, in my opinion. This is why I rated this four stara. I suggest everyone to get this book and get lost in the lives of Upton and Tristan's journey.

Heartwarming

We’re back in Worthington, Texas and it’s great. Tristan and Upton are two men with similar pasts. They have both been left by their spouses. Tristan and Upton both have young sons. The boys met at school and that is how their fathers meet. Upton and Tristan grow to care very much for each other. The problem is that Tristan’s job and Upton’s past collide. This threatens to break them apart. Misunderstandings can cause big problems in young relationships. Tristan is defending the man convicted of killing Upton’s cousin. Upton finds that impossible to understand. Peter does another great job of working out the problems and developing the characters. He makes us feel like we really know these men and their families. Loved listening to Nikola Muckajev again. Thanks for this wonderful story!

Loved this story!!

I was given a free credit for this audio book in exchange for an honest review, but it's one I would purchase. The story is very sweet with adorable characters! The narrator does a great job as well. He has a very easy voice to listen to. I would definitely recommend this book!!

Upton & Tristan

Their son's friendship leads to them spending time together. I enjoyed their burgeoning romance. Tristan knows his secret will not make Upton happy, but he avoids the truth. Their boss are adorable.

No Immersion Reading

Audio: Disappointed the Audio and eBook were not Whispersynced to allow for Immersion Reading. Narrator has a very soothing, clear voice that was enjoyable to listen to, but a bit monotone.
Story: Tristan and Upton's story was sweet, though the 'lie' dragged on a bit with the resolution too quick to balance it out. Loved Carter and Barney and their antics!

Upton and Tristan

Love Peter Styles writing. Upton and Tristan have great chemistry. Their boys are super sweet and their desire to be brothers was too cute. There were several laugh-out-loud moments and plenty of spice. Upton's pain from losing his cousin was hard to see. Tristan's lie by omission was disastrous. I liked that he tried so hard to rectify his behavior. It was even better to see that Upton didn't let his grief blind him to the truth. The ending made me cheer.
The narrator did an excellent job. His voice had nice infection and cadence.

PRECONCEIVED NOTIONS AND GRIEF MAKE PEOPLE VERY PR

Upton is a young single father. Tristan is a forty-something single father. They meet because of their children and develop a good relationship. Upton is upset that Oliver Suarez is a wrongfully convicted murderer. Tristan wants to right this wrong, but soon finds out that Oliver was convicted of killing Upton’s cousin and because Oliver was convicted; although wrongfully, Upton is up in arms to hate Tristan and Oliver. The two must find a way to come to terms over this without harming their young sons’ relationship. I love the way Peter fought for Oliver’s rights and related wrongful convictions in this society through his story.

The narration for this story was as wonderful as ever.

Sweet and romantic

First, Barney and Carter are the cutest kids ever! Seriously, if there were a prize for cute kids, these guys would get it, no contest :P

Now, their parents... Yes, they are really interesting characters, two single dads doing their best to care for their sons and get their work done. But, OMG! I spent a lot of time silently screaming to Tristan: don't initiate anything with Upton without telling to whom are you defending, don't do that, don't do it!

Oh, man! You did it! ~deep, disapproving sigh~

That said, the way in which Upton discovers the truth? Well done! I'm sorry for him, sure, but... yeah, no way it wouldn't come out.

So, yes, I truly enjoyed listening to this story. It's well written, the characters are attractive and engaging, and the narration by Nikola Muckajev is fantastic. Another great job by Peter Styles :D
