My opinion, bummer!
Unlike the first two books, this one disappointed me to some degree.
First, I dislike it when an author has the characters involved in chatter (overall goofing around) and/or introspection during a battle. It makes no sense to me since the focus needs to be on the battle.
Second, the author builds the lead character into a major player with magic, but then to make the battles last longer, fails to utilize the abilities that have been established!
Parts of the story were great, but other parts dragged the story down. Some of the kibitzing was so problematic for me that I had to stop listening for a while. Not good!

Another Incredible Journey
The character growth is amazing. And the storyline is evolving nicely. And naming the hidden enemy, not so hidden anymore, is a grand move. The betrayals suck but necessary for the storyline.

everyone has the same sense of humor. There isn't a single person who doesn't respond to humor differently in the story. its a mary sue power fantasy with no strong nemesis.

flat story
a quick review: a fight starts she wins. if she doesn't her alert ego appears and wins. tried to stay with this story and yes I made it several books in as I was hoping the author would grow and be better but he seems to devolve
