Resumen del Editor

The saga of the legendary Los Angeles band Little Feat is one of rock 'n' roll's great stories. Formed in 1969 by ex-members of Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention, Little Feat created groove-heavy music that was an irresistible mix of rock, blues, R&B, country, jazz, soul, and funk.

Fronted by the charismatic but doomed vocalist and brilliant slide guitarist Lowell George, the band recorded such classic studio albums as Sailin' Shoes and Dixie Chicken, as well as Waiting for Columbus, which many consider to be one of the best live albums of all time.

Acclaimed journalist Ben Fong-Torres - working with Little Feat's surviving members, their friends, and associates - wrote Willin' based on hours of brand-new interviews with the key players. The result? The first definitive biography of this beloved rock 'n' roll institution.

Essential for Feat fans, but a mixed bag

There is a tremendous amount of research at work here, and the story is well documented. Much respect for that. However, the editing is very uneven, as there are multiple passages that appear more than once. The repetition is distracting. Also, the narration does not really fit the story. However, even with that being said, it is still a must for Little Feat fans.

Love the band, love, the book, hated the narration

Ben Fong Torres wrote a great book, but his reading is mechanical and diminishes the experience considerably. Nevertheless, I highly recommend the book, but in this instance, you might want to read it yourself.

The Great “Feats”

This is a great book about one of America’s best and much under appreciated bands. If you love their music, you will love this. The author narrates the book himself and I think he did a very good job for someone who is probably not a professional narrator or actor.

Horrible narration

Ben’s AI meets Mad Libs staccato delivery ruined the entire experience for me. I’ve loved the Feat since I first heard them as a teen in 1976, so I was excited to get this book… honestly I don’t know what you guys were thinking allowing him to read this thing himself.

I’m a HUGE fan, but….

I’m so disappointed that someone so connected to R&R history as BFT would offer such a superficial chronicle of this seminal band. There’s no true history, or enlightenment here. It’s more of a collection of stuff the author heard said about this group of musicians. It pales by comparison to the documentary film “Feats First,” only proving that the story and history is out there. BFT is just too lazy to go find it and offer it to us!
