From New York Times bestselling author Kristen Proby comes When We Breathe, a small-town, MMF, Why Choose romance set in Bitterroot Valley!

Alex

I met Adam and Gabe the old-fashioned way: in a bar. That is, if old-fashioned means that I met a couple of men already in a committed, loving relationship, and they took me home for a night of debauchery and fun, then yeah. That.

It’s just supposed to be one night. I don’t want to be the third wheel or put any kind of a wrench in their love story. These two guys are perfect together. Gabe is the laid-back, easygoing auto mechanic with muscles for freaking days. Adam isn’t lacking in the muscle department either, honestly, but he’s more intense, a little more bruised from a shaky past.

Like me.

I find myself craving their attention all the time. And they don’t seem to want to let me go. What started as one night has turned into something so much... more. I’m a girl who thought she wasn’t lovable, and instead, these two men are proving to me that the three of us could have something really special.

But it’s hard for me to trust, and letting go of the last of my independence may be where I draw the line. Will these men let me walk away, or will they fight for us?

This is a steamy novella that packs an emotional punch. I loved Adam, Alex, and Gabe’s happily ever after, and listening to it? Just wow!

When Adam and Gabe spot Alex at a bar, they’re very aware that she’s hot. They also know she’s into spending one night with them. What they weren’t expecting? For it to feel so right.
So much so that, when the night is over, they don’t want her to go.

But while Alex doesn’t want to go either, she’s scared. Her past has left her with some emotional scars, and she’s having a hard time coming to terms with two amazing men wanting her the way they do.

Aiden Snow and Sean Masters were already favorites, and it’s not surprising how they tackle these two men in love so well. One of my favorite things in the book was how they communicated, and that comes through so well in audio. The way they want to be there for Alex and help her in any way and how much they want her by their side was so perfect in their voices that I was swooning.
It was my first time listening to Avery Caris, and I’m sold. She portrayed an Alex who is a fighter, who’s strong after having been through so much, and vulnerable enough to make you want to reach out and hug her. I loved her!

Their scenes together were chemistry-filled and hot (the boat scene lives rent-free in my head—yes, even more now after listening to it), but also showed trust. Every moment, however small, showcased how special they are together and how lucky they are to have found each other. How they belong together. It’s all in their voices, and it was beautiful to listen to.

These three narrators pulled me into the story, and I felt like I was part of it.
If you have the chance, get this short audiobook. I don’t think you’ll regret it.

When we breathe like this together, it’s home.

This novella was 100% worth the hype. I was dying to know what happened with Alex, Gabe and Adam when I first read about them meeting. Everything lived up to the hype. It felt like you got a full story even though it was short. Everything flowed so smoothly and it didn’t feel like anything was missing. There was a good amount of spice without being too much. Avery Crais, Sean Masters and Aiden Snow did such a good job with the narration on the audiobook. I would call it duet style even though there are three of them. Everyone kept to their chapters. This book is 100% a reread/relisten for me.

Holy—!!! This was HOT 🥵, if you know what I mean!! 🌶️😉 This was my foray into the “Why Choose?” romance trope & I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did, but WOW!! 🤩 This was GREAT!!! (Hence, the 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!! 😃) The only thing is that I wish it was LONGER, like a full-on NOVEL instead of just a novella, then we could have explored each character a little more, but oh, well . . . 😅 I thought it was interesting (& different) how Alex (the “F” in this “MMF throuple”; I’m guessing her full name is “Alexandra”, but the author never actually says (I don’t think . . . 🤔🤷🏽‍♀️) was afraid of all pets, EVEN though a pet NEVER actually did anything to her; it was all her * JERK * of a father . . . That was a little bit curious to me, I guess you could say . . . 🤔 BUT that also presents a question that I wish the author DID expand on a bit, even if this was “just” a novella: What does Alex do around Skyla (her friend’s) service dog, Riley, then?? Because, surely, Alex HAS met (or seen) Riley around the SMALL town, right? Does Skyla just always leave Riley at home whenever she knows Alex will be around b/c that seems PRETTY unlikely to me, especially since Riley IS a service dog 🐕‍🦺 🤔 . . . Also, another question I had is: HOW do “the guys” (Adam & Gabe, the “M” & “M” of this “MMF” romance novella) KNOW who Conner (another guy that was mentioned briefly) is without having to ask 1st? Like, it seems to me that one of them should have asked, “Whose Connor?” when Alex 1st bought up the name “Connor”, especially if this seemed to be the 1st time either of them had heard the name, right?? But, I don’t know; maybe that’s just me “reading too much into” this short novella . . . 🤷🏽‍♀️ But, anyway, I LOVED it, regardless & maybe I’ll read/listen to more “MMF” romance novels now after this!! 👍🏻😊

This Was HOT!! 🥵🌶️😉

This novella about Why Choose relationship was wonderful. It shows how wonderful it can be between three people who really love and care for each other. Alex, Gabe, and Adam knew from the beginning that they were supposed to be in a committed relationship with each other. The multi-narrator audio was perfect.

Well this story was very spicy! If you’re looking for immediate spice this is a good quick read. I knew I wanted this story when it was mentioned in Billie’s story. These three are 🥵🥵. I loved both MMCs. They really worked hard to show the FMC what being cared for and loved looks like. As always the book club girlies are amazing. I love the books they read throughout the series! This story was a quick read but it was a good one. I cannot wait for the final book of this series.

I’m on a big Sean masters kick right now. I think he’s narrated 4 books for me this month and he has not disappointed. I’ve always loved Aiden snows voice as well. Man was he good in this one. Avery Caris as always brings the fmc to life. It was a great casting!

Hello. Spicy novella

This was a short novella that I realized after I started reading was already part of an established world and this book belonged in the middle of book 4 and book 5. Why mention this? Well, because I have a pet peeve about starting books in the middle of a series and try not to do that if possible.
There was definitely information given about the existing world and even more with existing characters already settled in this world. I really don't think it made too much of a difference though and I was able to follow along fairly well with no issues.

This story has our FMC Alex meeting two men - Adam and Gabe - who are already in a loving and committed relationship. They invite her home with them one night and Alex is willing and excited to embark on what she thinks is a one night stand. The setting is in a very small town, and I got the impression that everyone knows everyone else and many are related (as cousins and such) Our characters are NOT related, but Gabe did grow up knowing Alex, even though they were not close.

While this was a very quick and easy read, I did have an issue with the level of "insta-love". I mean, these guys were supposedly VERY happy in their relationship yet when they meet and bring Alex home, it is not a couple days later when they just HAVE to have her in their life and cannot imagine their lives without her. One of the guys even says, "We NEED her" so yeah, that was a bit much. Other than that, it is a cute story with a HEA.

The narration was performed by the trio of Avery Caris, Aiden Snow and Sean Masters and they did a fine job.
