It was good

It was a good story. The characters were interesting. The plot was interesting but the storyline felt disconnected sometimes. Worth listening.

We Shall Not Shatter is a must have.

I am a lover of history and this book did not disappoint. Elaine’s eloquent way of writing about such a sensitive time period captured my attention from the first page. I felt like I was there with Zofia, Aanya and their families throughout their courageous journeys. I am convinced, We Shall Not Shatter should be required reading in college English classes. This novel also would make an excellent movie with its many valuable lessons including acceptance, forgiveness, and showing kindness in the face of adversity. I loved this book so much I also purchased the
paperback version. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Well done Elaine. You should definitely purchase this book for yourself and all of your friends.

Captivating

The story kept you guessing what would happen. A nice story without the details of torture.

Overly Dramatic

The performance was overly dramatic and distracting. The frequent segues from the story to give current social interpretations of the story were also distracting and made the story seem unrealistic. It’s unfortunate, because it could have really drawn you in otherwise.

Love the 3 books

I enjoy WWII fiction or non fiction WW2 story. Coming from France and having resistant grand-parents, there is something in me that needs to understand how people had the courage to fight, resist and help others. Thank you for those stories.

Easy to follow storyline

Not too thrilled about the narration. Words when switching characters seem too “forced”, not natural speaking.

Simple

It’s hard to describe this book as simple considering it’s about WWII. The story jumps time very quickly with little context. I’m not sure if it’s just the reading or a combination of the reading and writing but the tone is geared more towards children. Simple characters and no depth.

Same story - more confusing

I never could get into this book. I finished it because that's the way I am. and when it ended with a dog bark that's kind of how I felt about the entire story. I feel like there was so much more that occurred during this time in history and this was just all brown. I kept waiting for something to happen and nothing ever did. I was very disappointed
