absolutely excellent wonderful amazing

I have read hundreds of books I started listening to audible due to my long commute to work I have about 90 audible books under my belt. and this book series is by far my favorite. it's like Anne rice meets lord of the rings with a doctor who twist. written fully for a adult audience. at first I was a little skeptical of the narrator but quickly realized how talented and skillful he was. he truly made me fall in love with the characters and brought them to life giving them each a unique voice and personality. I truly like how the realism comes across in the book. how the main protagonist knows that there are consequences for his actions and he he does not mindlessly do things. watching his inner struggle and how he overcame his obstacles had a very real feel. I encourage everyone to read this book series if you like epic fantasies vampires dragons Wizards a wonderful realistic magic system and just one hell of a roller coaster ride that's easy to follow with a complex plot

This book is fantastic. Unfortunately the good must come to an end because the book does not go on for forever. I fully plan on purchasing the next book when it is released

This combo of writer and narrator are truly impressive. I highly recommend as I purchase the new one as soon as it’s available every time.

Feels like I waited forever .. Now waiting restart

Feels like I waited forever ... Now With the cliffhanger. ...waiting restarts.
Love the sarcasm from Eric or Hellar (sp) the King, vampire,.
... maybe a little spoiler..
Thought Mary was finally getting through .. Him not thinking so much of himself That love not fear is the base of his insecurity..
OK one point of criticism I am partial geek myself, and We all know that Eric's human life he was a physics professor however their portions of this book that is so nitty gritty detail scifi geek of how things work related that drove me crazy it's like a minute of it to minutes but goes on forever and you can say a lot in a minute.
Lastly, There are definite points of laughing out loud to thank you for that.
It definitely feels like several years Between book 4 and book 5 though looking back at it it's only been a year. This part I know most if not all authours abhor Which is to azk when do you think book 6 is going to come out?? Sorry had to ask.
So how can you expect any less with a massive cliffhanger as the one you gave in the end ? Get us all hyped up wondering wondering .... then the end. Holy crapp!! I would like to put many curse words on here bloody h*** apparently voice to text won't translate them Interesting. Good job and thank you.

Wish there was more vocal differentiation

I quite enjoyed listening to this series and love the sound of Sean's voice. I only wish there was more of a vocal difference for the female voices. If I'm not paying attention Eric/Halar sounds a lot like Mary.

Out of site!!!

Each of these books are beyond compare. Garon and Sean deserve all awards out there that are available for writers and narrators for these fantastic books. It’s going to be a long wait for the next book. Dammit Jim, write faster!!

Love this series

This book, like the series, has me hooked. I will admit though. I wasn't a fan of the ending of this book.

One of the best series I’ve read/listened, but

There’s so much about this series I love, and so much about the main character I dislike a lot. If you have no interest in how a spell works or the minutiae of how things work or happen, then there’s a lot of wasted time in the whole series. If, when you think about hitting the lottery, you think of every detail of how you’re going to spend the money down to the smallest detail of the security system on your new compound, then this is your series. Some of it gets a little monotonous and repetitive, but I can tone it out while listening or jump forward 30 sec on the app. The characters are well thought out and developed and with a couple hundred hours of listening, they should be.
My problem with the main guy, Halar or Eric, is he’s depressing. He constantly whines and complains about himself. I understand having a less than perfect character or it would be boring, but he goes too far and I find myself wishing he would shut up and move on. When he starts his woe is me crap, I usually take that time to take a break.
Other than that, I love it and almost all the characters for what they’re supposed to be. I just hate that the 6th book isn’t ready but I probably need a break so I can get something done ;)

I love this story but ugh the cliff hangers... how long before book six??? I found lots more emotion in this one, I hope six is even better
