Good read but,

The series is pretty interesting so far. It’s not a great epic like the Cradle series or even as good as some of the other LitRpg’s but still enjoyable none the less.

Where this book got on my nerves was the first 8 chapters where the MC find himself back on the farm of the family that beat and abused him as a child and even tho he is much stronger and is a warlock, he still takes their reticule and abuse. I don’t mean for the MC to be ruthless and kill his childhood abusers, but he’s strong enough now to stop their continued abuse. Turning the other cheek is one thing, but enough is enough.

Not the best narrator

The narrator does a pretty poor job At differentiating the characters. A lot of the time I can’t tell who is speaking. And the main protagonist is a 14 year old boy who sounds like a 45 year old man. The voices for the other characters do not remain the same.

The story is full of action, much of it gruesome. The hero’s budding girlfriend is incredibly tedious, can’t hold her tongue even when it is going to get everyone killed, and she never learns the lesson. I keep hoping someone will push her off a cliff... hopefully her character will eventually mature because I’m sure she is here for the duration. I’m still sticking with it, but may not last much longer, the book is getting pretty tedious.

nice but

I hate when people give good books bad reviews
but now I understand the point they are trying to make with their review. That being said.
This story line is so awesome I live it. I just hate how the writer writes a lovely story then bam sink hole. I mean these.kids learn.on the run and this a adventure story, why dose it have to be so gloomy for them. people try to kill them then when they get the upper hand they just walk away from the would be killers I mean come on time and time again. hey I'm no critic but this story needs some.fluff to really be an epic adventure other than this is a good bland adventure. To the author. can u please give the lead characters a dab of reality. They a really like the 3 stoogers without the slapping. or Dumb, Dumb and dumber. the bad part is u make them.seem smart but u write them to do dumb shet. if Ed Ed and eddy ate from the tree of wisdom and went on an adventure. bad part is I love the story but I won't read the next one because I just can't be bothered.

Great book

Great book. The storyline builds from the very start. This is another great book that has only gotten better . Each book in the story helps to entrench the reader deeper and deeper.

In love!

I love this series so much, there's never a dull moment. the characters are likeable and the narrator is entertaining.

Like Harry Potter On The Go

This is the first book that doesnt feel like every character is introduced to just kill them off. Yeah there is some PTSD type scenes, which adds to the realism. I mean it is a story about 14 year olds experincing more death and torture than anyone should ever have to. The fact that it feels less Game of Thrones like and more about developing characters actually makes the story better. Almost wanted to give it 5 stars. The shock at how evil people are when the villains have already proven they are genocidal is what stopped me though. At some point you just have to stop appealing to a homicidal sociopaths better angels.

nice easy read

I listened to this series inbetween books. it's written for a younger audience but is still fun. I wish there were less moments of "they found the thing" at the last second that will save them from the bad they walked into. still recomend for easy listening

Best of the Series So Far

Sever Bronny is obviously a still-maturing author but this book shows his progress going in the right direction. I am puzzled by his bad grammar and incorrect diction - it often seems as though he is writing with a thesaurus and does not really command the meaning of the words he chooses, again, seemingly, in haste - but this story is growing and sharpening and is thoroughly engrossing and engaging. Another page-turner by Sever Bronny. I fully recommend this title.

This book is way better than the Harry Potter series can’t stop listening can’t wait to start the next series

Good Story But.........

The Main Protagonists seem to be intellectually and emotionally impotent at the most inopportune times. When they should kill, they defer. When they should be decisive they are wishy washy. I found myself being extremely frustrated with their lack of righteous and impotent anger. When they should be stern they spend their time wringing their hands. I like the saga but find myself very frustrated with many of their reactions to provacative situations. Teenagers are in reality made of sterner stuff than the protagonists display on a regular basis. They feel guilt when they should show righteous anger.
